 | | War and Peace: Seven-Minute Symphony | | by Ed Fry, Jan 5, 2009 | | The seven-minute symphony was written as a school project, comprising seven short movements of varying length. It begins with a solo trumpet, gradually building up towards its climax. A minor strings harmony then follows, followed by a swung blues section, reflecting peace. A slow and irregular drumbeat brings us back into the build up to war where eventually the upper and lower brass fight it out between each other, before ending in complete anarchy.
The recording itself is on Sibelius - hopefully it'll be done properly with an orchestra someday. I was Year eight at the time this was written - 2007. | | Comments(0) Liked It: 0 |
