I pondered the fact that, there is a war of opinions everywhere. The 2 battling armies, also 2 legends in MMORPGS which are Runescape vs. World of Warcraft. I haven't played a lot of World of Warcraft, but I see videos or forums full of this war. I say that none of them suck, in a way of course. I'm an avid gamer and play a variety of games, while still keeping up my grades. On one side we have a game that have superior graphics, game play, and pretty much everything that makes World of Warcraft better than Runescape. Sadly people of Runescape reply back with that same saying, but in different ways. What I think about is what causes these people's opinions to go to the length of flaming, which results in a ban. People, who are indifferent or ignorant, will also say ITS JUST A GAME. That does nothing in resolving a conflict, even though it seems right.
Both games have their strengths and weaknesses, and their similarities and differences. I would say a big similarity of Runescape and World of Warcraft is the sheer number of people that play. But that is used to say that this game is better than that, which we don't need. One similarity that is overlooked is the way this game holds our minds in this prison of addiction. It isn't as bad as smoking but still, I hear these stories about people dying just on a game that involves literally useless things that won't help in real life. Even a South Park episode involves this addiction, and show what you can become.
Another thing that has been holding me up is the videos of Runescape/World of… etc. etc. SUCKS! Yet if they say that then why do you play that game, even if it sucked where on earth do have the right to force ideas down throats, I've actually seen people mocking a player that has the highest score on Runescape, and he has no response. I don't know about this, but he is way more mature than those people that put those videos up there, I can see that. Once that video pops up, you get every hater/lover of that game on there and flaming each other just because of 1 opinion. I believe opinions can be shared, but not in this way.
I feel indifferent to the situation between these 2 games, but I really need to say this. If you cant say anything that will help anyone just better to shut up, and deal with it. We will always have varying opinions, and suppressing that, I believe is a moral wrong.
