Do you like to spend endless hours of your life on World of Warcraft? Perhaps you are just a casual player of the current leader of MMORPG's. Take a glance through the many different player styles of World of Warcraft and see where you fit in best!
Be Aware! Many of these things can go together, but think about where you, as a gamer, fit in the best! Be honest and be aware this is meant to be entertaining more than serious. Make sure to leave a comment with where you fall in this group and what you think!
The Quester
Who doesn't like to run from point A to point B over and over! Of course, most people don't tend to think like this, but some quest specific gamers love the idea of constant adventure. These players constantly enjoy running a message from Stormwind City to Strangethorn Vale. They enjoy taking the time to gather a party to defeat a mob that would otherwise be unobtainable. The quester is a class of adventurer who uses the storyline and excitement of “what's next!?” as their guidance through the many different paths of World of Warcraft. Others argue that questing is one of the fastest ways to level, no matter how long it can appear to the untrained eye.
The Skiller
Who needs levels when you can make 100 gold in no time at all? The skiller is a player who doesn't focus on the grinding of combat, the long hours of questing, or the futility of searching mobs for unique items. The skiller is the type of player who will spend hours within a capital city simply to power up a specific skill like jewelcrafting or enchanting. Most skillers are veteran players using alternate accounts and are rarely a primary account. They are an escape from the constant traveling required to level or the fact you are just bored with your level 70 main! A skill account is extremely useful for a fast income, but can become a hassle when you reach a level of skill that requires a combat level to proficiently use the profession.
The Noob
Maybe everyone isn't meant to play WoW, but so be it. Isn't it just a game after all? The noob is the class of player that really just doesn't understand the game. Don't be discouraged though! Most people evolve out of this stage very quickly as the noob stage is meant mainly as a “getting the hang of the game” stage. Of course, some people never pass this. The noob is a player who can't understand the complexity of WoW, can't remember all the tedious locations, the constant grinding of the buttons to produce the most powerful combination, or simply the basic controls and the basic goals of playing. Don't be discouraged, sooner or later you'll get the hang of it. Until then however, this player has to put up with constant harassment from the veterans of the community. Good luck!
The Noob Seeker
Who can resist the urge to just destroy a member of the alliance or horde who has no clue! These are the sly and often infamous members of the game. They are generally high level players, though not the elite of the game. They remain around level 40-60 hunting in popular low level training areas of moderate level PvP areas. They are often focused on PvP classes such as Hunters or Rogues, classes that are fast to strike and hard to avoid once they have you. These players, though they get the enjoyment of constantly destroying players, never really gain anything in the process outside of the quick slaughter. These players are often fiercely loyal to their side, bored with the game itself, or are sick of getting slaughtered by level 70 players whenever they train.
The Champion
Now we're talking! These are the level 70 players who go to popular PvP zones, participate in raids, or spend the entire day in the Arena destroying the opposite faction. They have reached their goal of the final level and simply spend their time honing their skills to destroy their enemies. These are the veterans of the game and often have the most time and money invested in WoW. They are the most experienced players in terms of time as well as power and knowledge of kill combinations. While many people hope to reach this level, it is a place for a select few, who really steamrolled to level 70 and can constantly dominate any opponent in the PvP challenges.
The Guildie
Oh, you need help? No Problem! The guildie is the player who likes to help out other players in general. Though they will specifically aide the needs of their own guild's members first and foremost, these are the most helpful players in general to new members. They spend hours of their playing time simply to help other people finish quests, understand the game, or simply enjoy their WoW experience. They are veterans much like the champion, but being anywhere from level 40-70 and just have more interest in helping their members than destroying the opposing faction. Though they are extremely helpful they are almost the equivalent to the noob hunter. They do a lot of things that makes them feel successful and content playing, but they really achieve nothing towards their personal character's success in most cases.
The Roleplayer
Who can resist wasting a little time making up your own story to play with friends? These are either really experienced players trying to pass a little time or some lower leveled players who enjoy the wasting of time more than leveling. A lot of people add at least a bit of roleplaying into their WoW experience, but some people make it a primary style of play. Perhaps not the most serious gamers in terms of leveling or PvP, these players can be very caught up in a personal storyline and can generate a lot of player interest and time investment into the World of Warcraft experience.
The “Circle”
This is the player that has kept everything in balance to create an interesting environment to play. Almost all players in the WoW community attempt to create the full circle character, but it can get tedious trying to complete everything with a single character. After questing, grinding can seem dull, or perhaps the opposite. If you sit and waste an hour leveling a profession, perhaps you don't want to do the other one. A circle player is one of the hardest ones to reach because it requires the most consistent effort out of the player to complete everything that needs to be done. A circle character is perfect when complete because they bring all the best aspects of the game into a single character, yet are extremely hard to create.
