I enjoy have those other games because I have the opportunity of sending The Sims to college, of adopting a pets, of controlling the weather, and so many other important tasks in the game.
If you don't want to save the game, don't save it and just try it over again. There have been many times where I have done the wrong thing, and suffered consequences for it.
