When the Sims for PC came out I had to find out what all the fuss was about. So I got the game. This game is where you create a person, and then create a house for them, and run their life from every thing from picking their jobs, to their past times, to how they handle relationship, to if they get married and have kids!
Then they started to come out with expansion packs for the game. First was the Deluxe, this pack just added more objects for the houses and a few more careers and more neighborhoods. Then the Hot Date expansion pack came out. Here you get a whole downtown neighborhood. You have to call a taxi to take you there but once you get there you find all sort of new things. There are shops where you can buy clothes, jewelry, magazines, flowers and more, there are restaurants where you can take your date and have dinner, cuddle, play footsie or make out. There are ice cream shops where you can buy ice cream and the go next door to the arcade and play games. Or you can go to the museum and stare at all the things you might already have in your home! If you don't like any they have created for you or you are feeling adventurous you can always create you own place! Here you can meet people and ask them out and take them home or out on a date. You can also take someone with you from home but be careful not to make them mad or else they will leave you there!
Next came The Sims Vacation. Here you get a whole vacation neighborhood. Where you can take 3 different kinds of vacations, one to a beach, or camping or a nice winter vacations. To get there you have to call you travel agent. Then once to get to the vacation island you pick your vacation. If you chose the beach you then you can choose one of 3 beach spots. The beach gives you a chance to hang by the pool and play arcade games for token and then trade them in for prizes. Of course there is a hot tub and a store for your connivance too. Make sure you stake claim to you room so you have a place to sleep that night though. Next is the camping again you can choose from three different spots. While camping you stay in a tent and you can go fishing in the late, shoot some arrows, grill food, make a picnic, play volleyball, or rent a medal detector and see what you can dig up in the ground every thing from old artifacts , to money , to old shoes! Then there is a winter vacation, with again three spots to choose from. Here you stay in a log cabin hotel and you can sit by the fire, or go snowboarding, sit in the hot tub, or build a snow man. Of course if you start to miss your family and friends you can always send them a post card! If you don't like any of the 9 sites they have given you again here you can always build your own.
Next came unleashed. This one made you neighborhood bigger and added shops right in you neighborhoods. It added a pet store, so you could buy pets; a park with dog competitions; coffee shops with weird old ladies; and a farmers market where you can buy vegetables or bring your own to sell. That's right in this edition you can become a farmer and a pet owner!
Next was Sims Superstar. Here your Sims could become movie stars or actors or music makers. It is just like a regular career in the Sims where you have to move up in it but this time YOU do all the work you don't just send them off to work. This comes with a new neighborhood filled with runways and movie trailers and music video shoots. You can also win awards, get you autograph asked for (if you become famous of course) and rub elbows with Drew Carey and other stars. Of course you then can get the occasional stacker that will follow you home and leave rose all over your lawn and take your picture and follow you everywhere but hey that the biz right?
The last installment is the making magic pack. Here you can get genies and magic tricks and all sorts of new objects and things to play with. Tons of paranormal objects and people. As with any of the packs you can also throw parties and order pizza too! Or you can slack off and do nothing.
Don't forget to look up the cheat codes! There are other ways of making money other then going to work everyday.
The Sims is another great game for kids. It will keep the occupied for hours on end and teach them real life lessons like how to have relationships with people what people like and don't like, how to make money and save up for what you want.
