There are two very popular games on the market - Guitar Hero III and Rock Band. But which one should you get? They both seem pretty good but owning both would be pointless.
I own Guitar Hero III, and my friend has Rock Band, and might I say they are very much a like. Hopefully by reading this guide you can decide which one is right for you.
Lets take a look at the prices. Guitar hero III can range from $100-120 dollars, while Rock Band ranges from $200-210 dollars.
Guitar Hero only comes with a game and a guitar, while Rock Band comes with a game, a guitar, a microphone and a drum set.
You can only use the Guitar Hero III controller with the Rock Band game if you have an Xbox 360, it doesn't work with a playstation 2 or 3.
Now lets analyse the ups and downs of each games.
Ask yourself some of these questions.
Do I normally play video games alone or with friends?
If you play alone, then Guitar hero is a better buy for you, if you are with friends or siblings, you will want Rock Band because it gives a higher variety of game play and a lot of fun.
Do I want high quality in one thing, or lower quality in many things?
Guitar hero is only guitar, but it is very high quality in what they do since they only need to concentrate on Guitar, while Rock Band has three different varieties, but as you can see they have to work on many things rather then just one. I am not saying its really low quality, I am just saying its less concentrated on.
I like songs! Which has the best!?
Guitar hero. Guitar hero has over 75 songs that come with the game, while Rock Band has a mere 59. But, Guitar Hero III has about 10 downloadable songs (Xbox / PS3) and Rock Band has over 50. If you aren't planning on buying songs you should get Guitar Hero, if you think you might want to, Rock Band might be your choice.
