Guitar Hero and Rockband: Rock Games?

Today, there is no one who doesn't know about these games.

if your one who don't, then you could have been inside a box for the last 3 years. On 2005 a game named Guitar Hero was released for the gaming console Playstation 2. This game was an ordinary game at first, it was just a creative invention which included a gaming guitar, to perform a variety of rock songs which you could play making you think or imagine that you were playing a real guitar. It's ok, this game was awesome for rock fans, and more for those guitar maniacs out there. But then a second version was released, with more songs, and all that new stuff that makes a game better than the older version.

This one caused lots of people to buy it and became famous now in people that liked rock and to the other people too. And finally became the 3rd version "Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock" which was now for the Xbox 360 console and PS3 the new ones. So imagine people that liked it now bought the console and the game, it was big sale. Everyone was talking about this game and mentioning the songs that came there. GH3 was a successful release, but then EA released a new game called Rockband. The main idea of that game is to make competence to guitar hero, but this game included not only the guitar, it included drums, bass, vocals, and guitar, so people could play with their friends. Now this means war and both companies will release more and more games such as Guitar hero 4 that will include all the instruments that rockband uses, and rockband 2 will get better in songs, interface, difficulty and all that stuff.

I've played both games and I can't say I'm good because I really suck on it. But there is something I just don't like about these games, It's ok I like rock, in fact I'm a Heavy Metal fan, and I would like people to listen to this kind of music, but there is a problem. I noticed that when I normally use my mp3 and hear music, people usually want to know what are you listening to, so you tell them, they have never heard that band before and they absolutely don't like it, and in fact they tell you that your likes are bad and your music sucks and that stuff. So well I don't really care what they say, until those games were released. One day a friend of mind came to me and told me that if I had heard some band, so I looked it and I said yes, that band is one of my favorites. Where did you hear it ? I asked. He answered: This one comes in a game that is really cool you got to play it man. So he explained what Guitar hero was. And I got mad, I said: - Man you told me I had bad  likes because I hear this. He answered: - Yeah but well I didn't even listened to it, but it's really awesome. WTF?!?

Well that's my history. Now just if you guys haven't noticed this: For those guys who thinks guitar hero was a creative idea, I got to say NO. If you ever played like dance dance revolution or Pump it up, then you will noticed this is just a cheap way to copy them, they thought o yeah why don't we make a game like those but instead of using a dancepad let's make it a guitar.

Anyway, these games are just what other games are made for, to earn cash, and its hillarous because that's the same reason I made this post. Well actually for that and to inform people how those games changed our society.

Thanks for your attention.
