A Maplesea Guide to Recognizing Scams

How to recognize Maplesea scams and how to handle them.

Okay, so let us define what a scam is first. A scam is a confidence trick, which is to swindle or cheat someone by gaining his or her confidence.

There are several scams, so let us start with the less sophisticated ones:

Person A is at a high level, while person B is at a low level. Person B offers Person A a trade of his or her higher level account in the same or other worlds.

Ways to approach this: Tell him or her that you are not interested.- Tell him or her, a fake username and password and when he or she logs out, you sneak away.

Person A is at a high level, and Person B, usually a low level, comes and says, “Hey! Want to play with a high level account in another world; all you need to do is just give me 1 million+ mesos.”

Ways to approach this: Tell him that you are not interested- Cancel the trade and ignore himOk, so now let us go onto the more sophisticated scams.

Trading between persons A and B. B offers A a steely. A says that due to the taxation system, he would give B 49,999 mesos first, and request you to follow him to the bank to take more. After A and B trades, A logs out and disappears.

Ways to Approach This: Do not be afraid to pay tax, its better than being scammed.

Now comes the "boyfriend" part. In game, some people like to make boyfriends and girlfriends, but this is more for the male characters. There are some female characters out to cheat you, and you should be wary of that, for instance, they say give me equipments or scrolls or A cash, if not I will not be your girlfriend anymore, well don't be afraid to give them up because after they take your stuff, they are going to ditch you for some other guy, so people, don't be stupid spending your 1 week allowance on some prepaid card that you are going to use on someone else.

Then, there is also the "family" part, be careful on who you trust, and don't just give your passwords away thinking that they would help you.Your friends may also request for your password and username to help you train in cases like sharing accounts. So beware of these kinds of people too.But ultimately, trust in your instincts, although it may go wrong sometimes.

If it keeps going wrong, ask someone who is more experienced, and if you have experienced more heart-aching experiences of scamming, please feel free to share with other people to prevent them from being scammed.Thank you very much for reading my guide, and I hope you have enjoyed it.

I have encountered a few of these scams! Another include the 'duplicating' scam.

Person A tells Person B to put his good items up on the trade.
Person A tells Person B he can duplicate them, all Person B has to do is press TRADE and type copy.
The Y will automatically accept the trade!

Beware of these as scammers will run off with your items and you can't do anything about it.
