Guild Wars

A short game review on the BEST MMORPG, Guild Wars.

Guild Wars is a very unique and spectacular game. It has stunning and high quality graphics and unbelievable game play.

The graphics in the game aren't your normal MMORPG graphics (Cartoon based), it is more realistic and more real life based. I, in my own opinion do not like cartoon graphics because it makes a game look very simple and un-realistic. I enjoy a game with good graphics that aren't very quickly sketched out and pixelized.

The game play is very fun. Instead of your normal walking around killing things, then a random level 100 comes up and Kill steals your monster, you get your own private map. Only people you party with can share the private map with you. Although, some people dislike this system and prefer to share it with other people. But that would be madness; the map of a district itself is quite large, having a mass number of people in the same district is quite crowded already. Having a vast number of people on one explorable map will cause major lag to most people like it did on the Christmas Box Event.
Despite this, there are other aspects of the game.

The Secondary profession is a clever and genius of an idea. Never have I seen a game that has a system like it. Combining two classes to make a single character was a one of a kind. You can be a Warrior/Ranger without your Armour cutting out on your ranger skills. Although, I personally only like a character that goes with one profession. I find that they are stronger and are more unique that way.

The PvP is a pretty genius idea too. Instead of having a thousand people all over the place all trying to kill one another. You have a automatic timer that will start when you press a button, and you will be transported to a private map area. This means: Less Lag, Less Confusion, More Fun. Without a good build, you are officially stuffed. You cannot win with a weak and lame build. And that is when the points you earn in the PvP system come in handy.

Instead of earning a vast amount of gold, you earn Faction. You can exchange these for Spells and Items that can be customised on to your character. If you feel that you have no need for it, you can exchange it for items that are worth a fair bit. That way, PvP isn't just wasted time.

The storyline of the game is good, with the 3 Campaigns: "Prophecies", "Factions" and "Nightfall" you are set in a different area and time, each with a different storyline.
In Prophecies, the kingdom is overrun with Charr and other evil monsters. Your duty is to find the take the power back into the kingdom. You are set in a Camelot/Medieval place and era.

In Factions, guilds play a more important part. With the Kurzick and Luxon alliance. The events of the Factions campaign concern the return from death of a corrupted bodyguard named Shiro Tagachi. You are set in an Asian based time and era.
Nightfall takes place in the continent of Elona in the Guild Wars universe. It follows the player's character as they join the Order of the Sunspears and uncover the desire of Warmarshal Varesh to return a long forgotten god to the world through an event called Nightfall. This is based on more of a Roman based era and time I suppose.
So really, Guild Wars is really a good game. I'd rate it 9.5 out of 10.

Isn't the max level you can get lvl 20? That's what i've heard but I'm not sure. If so, that would be a major flaw-.-.
