Guild Wars Recommended Combinations

A list of recommended class combinations on Guild Wars.

Guild wars is a good fun game, but sometimes choosing class combinations gets you a little frustrated. So I am here to tell you a few very good class combinations.

Warrior/Monk

This combination allows you to do steady damage as well as heal yourself. It has a very high survivability due to it's capability for heavy armor and the fact that I can heal itself. This is a perfect tank for groups on any occasion.

Mesmer/Warrior or Warrior/Mesmer

This combination allows you to dish out a massive amount of damage. It's survivability is lacking a little but it makes up for it by far with damage output. This class is highly recommended for player versus player. It is a great anti-Warrior/Monk.

Elementalist/Ranger

This combination takes the capability of having a pet from hunter and pairs it with the superior damage of an elementalist.

The survivability of this combination is usually quite dependent on having a pet. This combination is very good for questing and most solo play, and it is also good in larger scale player versus player events due to its high capability for area of effect damage

Necromancer/Ranger

This combination is used to either replace the hunter pet with necromancer pets or to give the ranger the ability to do much more damage and steal life. This has a varying survivability but it is usually pretty high. If you use this combination to replace the pets it is very good for player versus player. If you use it for higher damage it is advised for solo play or in a party.

Ranger/Ritualist

This combination is best used as a combination of summonable spirits and the ranger pet. This is one of the most fun solo play combinations. The survivability is quite high. This combination is not really recommended for player versus player.

Combinations to Avoid

  • Ritualist/Warrior
  • Ranger/Warrior
  • Assassin/Warrior

Ironically Assassin/Warrior and Ranger/Warrior are one of the best combinations in the game, both in PvE and PvP.

What you want to avoid however is any masmer primary (mesmer/...) due to the nature of the class; a mesmer is only as good as its understanding of the opponents class (which skills to disable/interupt etc).

Kinda the opposite of your recommendation.
