Yes, it is annoying. Why did they have to make all the good mmorpg's monthly fees? We normal people who don't want to spend our money on these so called ''good'' games have to manage with the free ones.

I have played tons of good free mmorpg's. You just have to find the right one. Now, I will guide you to the best possible free mmorpg,s.
Free Mmorpg? I don't think so.
Knight Online is a big disappointment. Normal players have limited ours per day when they can log in. If you wish to get all out of this game, and actually be able to enjoy it…you must buy a premium ticket with actual cash. The "free mmorpg" fools many people, so do not download this game. Same thing goes with Silkroad Online. You must purchase a Premium Cupon so that you can actually JOIN the servers. The servers are always so crowded so that they came up with this stupid Idea of a cupon, that gives you the ability to join the server whenever you want, ignoring the traffic. This game may be free to download, but it is not really FREE to play.
Totally free to play?
Now, some games are free to play. You can join them 24/7 without any problems. But, in some games you still need that real money. My first example is Fly For Fun. The game is actually really addicting but it has bad sides too. The cash shop (a in game shop for purchasing special items with real money), is stupid. They made it so that these items can be traded, and whenever you look on the street you see people selling these items. It's a extremely easy way to make money and I think it is really unfair. They sell this items for huge amounts of money and with this system even beginners can become rich in a few seconds if they buy with real cash.
My next example is the game Rising Force Online (RF Online). This game has a cash shop, but the items are not tradable and you can be the best in the game without ever needing to touch the damn cash shop. These games work well.
What? Only for that time?
Unfortunately, the items in some game have a time limit. In Nexons hit game Maplestory, the items from the cash shop stay for only a limit amount of time. This is once again EXTREMELY STUPID. Nobody wants to start buying the same hat every month or every second month.

Guild Wars (well you have to buy it for 50$ but after you have bought it, it is FREE to play without any cash shops)

Endless Online (Very nice game, no cash shop)
Ghost Online (It is like Maplestory, but with a better cash shop)
