In the world of Albion, your character, a nameless farm-boy, is living with his father. You are told that it is your sister's birthday, and you are sent out to buy her a gift. To pay for the present, you must do some odd jobs around your little village. Once you have bought her present (A box of chocolates, how sweet), you are sent to go give it to her. When you find her, she tells you to hide. From your hiding spot, you witness the destruction of your little village as bandits pillage it. You run back you your house, trigger a cutscene, and are taken to a place called the Heroes Guild where you will begin your training.
Once you have the skills necessary to fight, you are sent out on your first quest, which issued by the guild master. You can come back to him for more quests, or for skill upgrades, whenever you want. As you explore the world, doing quests, leveling up, and gaining skills, you learn more about being good or evil. The more evil you do, the more demon-like you become, and that includes growing horns, smelling like horse dung, being an instant turn-off for the ladies, and going bald. Yes, Bald. On the other hand, the more good you do, the more angel-like you become. That includes having a halo above your head, rays of light shine down upon you, you are an instant turn on, and your hair looks as graceful as light itself.
This game offers many choices on what you do and how you do them. For example, you can choose to kill someone, or you can choose to help them. You can choose to buy a house, or choose not to. You can choose what quests you want to do. You can choose if you want to be straight, gay, bi, anything. This game offers a variety of choices that can help you progress through the game. It all depends on who you are and what your gaming style is.
There are many quests throughout the game, all ranging from delivery, to killing of a monster, to escorting a NPC somewhere. What you do will also affect who you are in the game. For example, if you choose the quest that involves slaying bandits, people will love you. If you take the quests that involve killing guards, well, people will think of you as a horrible person. Every choice you make alters the game just the slightest bit.
