Fable Beginners Guide

Fable is a single player middle age RPG, where a nameless boy that lives in the small town of Oakvale gets saved by the head of the Hero's Guild, Maze.

There has been a tragic raid on your Oakvale and you are the only survivor. Maze has taken you under his wing as the guilds newest apprentice. You share your room with Whisper, who is your rival throughout most of the game. Some things you can do at this stage are a few simple quests, like a race and ridding the guild's roofs of ravens.

There are three different ways to beat the game; Good, Evil, Mercenary.

If you are a "Good" character, you will get a halo over your head, and you will get much, much less gold per completed quest. This would be the hardest way to go because, as in real life, it's "hard to be good and easy to be bad". However, you can really pick up ladies in the towns and villages without any tattoos (they can raise how much people love you, or fear you).

The second way is to go "Evil" in which you character will have horns above his head. If you want to be rich, you might-as-well go evil, because you can shoplift repeatedly and sell it back to the merchant. Being evil has its downsides where you can really only marry Lady Grey, who is the mayor of Barrowstone. Being evil is also easier because you can make a living by just killing traders alone.

And the last way is to go as a mercenary. These guys are nor good nor evil, they just do what seems fit to them, and don't care about consequences. They neither have a halo or horns above their head, and can also do anything they really like.

Now when you become an adult in the game, you have a whole new array of actions and quests available. You can also take boasts with the quest to raise an extra 400 gold stake. For example, you can wager you can not be injured throughout the whole quest, or wager no one from your side dies, or even that you can do the quest in your boxers only.

Another thing you can do is have a wife. You can marry a girl (or boy…) as long as they have fallen in love with you. For them to marry you though, you must have a wedding ring, and a marital house. I personally have found that the more you talk and flirt with your wife, the more likely she is to give you gifts, like swords and armor.

The last thing we are going to touch on is the different armor that you could wear throughout the game. The most rare armor you can find is the assassin armor, which you cannot buy in the store, you must find it in the game in boxes and in caves.

some of the other garden variety armor would be your basic leather, chain, or plate armor, all of which can be bought in light or dark or regular colors. Some armor has a special benefit to the wearer, as a sort of an augment to your abilities.

For example, this assassin armor would give you +50 scariness (which lowers defense of bandits and guards) and -50 attractiveness. However, it can also buff you characters rate at stealing items and it also raises evil by around 45.

You may also buy augments from merchants, traders, or from boxes in the wild. These augments have various different benefits. For example, my bow can one hit "Balvarines" (werewolf type of a monster). I have a silver augment and fire augment that does a max of around 800, and its my main weapon.

Well, thank you for taking your time to read this guide, and now that you've read it, go to WalMart and spend your 20 bucks for this amazing game.

Interesting. So is Fire Assassin Armor (orsomething like that) the same as normal Assassin armor, but in red?
