In these article we will talk about many kind of enemies that you might be encounter in the Dark Messiah. This article will be divided into four sections depending on the race of your enemies.

Human

Black Guard:They are appear first in the prologue. They were hired by Arantir and the necromancers as amercenaries. Most of them carry short swords, and sometimes thei also use shield, while others use a bow as their primary weapon. They are very dangerous in a group. They are not a good fighter and do not dodge, block or parry much. Use a volley of three flame arrows or three power attacks to the head from a short sword will kill them. Take out the archers first or force them to drop their bows if you can, then kill them in your favorite way.

Necromancer: Necromancers use magic as their main weapon. They are wizards that specialize in death magic. They can raise zombies and reanimate fresh corpses. You should aware of fire projectiles from them. They will use some support from Black Guard in order to avoid their enemies getting close to them. Their magic is devastating at medium range,so fight them at either close or long range depending on your weapon of choice. In any case, you want to kill necromancers fast and prioritize them as targets over all other enemies except liches so you don't have to deal with any variety of reanimated corpse.

Necromancer Trainees:They will appear in chapter eight. They are servants of necromancers. Although they era very weak they should be killed quickly to prevent them alert their master.

Stonehelm Guard:They will appear in chapter one. They are better than Black Guards. They attack and defend better than a Black Guard, and they always bring a shield to protect them. For the most part, they are your allies but in chapter nine, a poorly aimed spell or arrow might cause you to wind up fighting them.

Stonehelm Wizzard:First appearance in chapter four. You will never have to fight them unless you accidentally provoke one in chapter nine. The strategy for dealing with them is the same as it is for a necromancer.

Undead

Zombies: They will appear in the prologue. They are reanimated corpses and because of that they are slow and stupid. They will not feel any pain and can be hard to kill. In chapter six they will be able to breathe poison gas, which makes their hard hits even more dangerous. Fight them in long distances and do not stand still too long in close combat.

Ghouls: They will appear in chapter one. They are as tough as Zombie but they can move faster. Usually they will attack in group, and will not stand still for long time. Try to hit them when they are not see you.

Liches: They will appear in chapter six. They are undead wizzard, a combination between necromancer and zombie. Take them down as quick as you can, otherwise they will rise alot of zombies to surround you.

Vanpire Knights: They will appear in chapter eight. They are the strongest warriors in the game. Usually they bring a shield to protect them. They are rarely lined up for instant kill. Do not fight them in a group. Take them down quckly and use range weapon while you can.

Undead Commoners:They will appear in chapter eight. They are weaker than zombies. But you should aware of their poison attack. You can ignore them and fight ghouls or zombies first.

Demonic

Goblins: They will appear in chapter four. Usually they bring spiked clubs and wooden shields. They always fighting in a group. Rather than use ranged weapons, goblins will throw rocks at you, which does little damage but can add up when there are a lot of them. Always press the attacck againts a froup og goblins. When their health depleting, they will run for their lives. Chease them and finish them.

Orc: They will appear in chapter five. Most Orc will use melee weapon and they will bring their shield almost all the time. They are better fighter compare to the black guard. You need to be much more cautious with any orc armed with a cleaver and prepare to use stronger spells, more arrows or just block more often.

Animal

Small Spiders: They will appear in chapter three. The smaller spiders you encounter aren't much of a threat as long as you notice them, although sometimes you can literally walk on them and kill them accidentally. They will attack you and they can poison you, so it's best to kill them before they get that chance.

Large Spiders: They will appear in chapter five. They are more dangerous than the smaller one. They will attack you in a group and they also has poison, which continually drains your health until you're down to 5 hit points. Do not heal yourself in the battle, kill them first then heal your self.

Facehuggers: They will appear in chapter five. They are fast and tough. You will be able to hit them only when they're right on top of you. Use well aimed fire ball to deal with them.
