This is the Third Part of Random Tips
for the Absolute Newbie Playing
Tradewars
Seven.
Building Planets is Vital
Firstly, you have someplace to park your
ship and spend the night.
Once you have a certain number of fighters,
experience, or are playing evil, you can't
end your session safely in Fed Space.
Secondly, as the game resets, (every 24
hours) if you have 100k credits on you,
you will be taxed.
Thirdly, Planets are your best defense
and offense. A well shielded planet with
a powerful Quasar canon will take out
about any ship that enters your Sector.
You will log on to learn that your planet
has destroyed the ship of another player
and you might not even notice the expenditure
of fighters and fuel.

Start planet building as soon as possible
and NEVER STOP.
There comes a time when the number of
colonists wishing to migrate from Earth
dries up.
Depending on how many players, how many
planets are being populated, this could
happen as early as thirty days.
Once the number of colonists starts to
drop it will reach single digits.
Players who wait too long to start planet
building or been lazy in transport of
colonists will not be able to do so.
The player who has been packing colonists
on a planet from day one will be in an
ideal situation.
With Ten Million colonists available,
this player has put a lock on the game.
Remember, there is no where to get
colonists except Earth, (unless you can
invade another planet).
The Player who has been ferrying colos
every day, virtually since the Universe
was banged, can build dozens of worlds
by moving colonists from planet to planet
at the cost of two turns.

When it comes to Planets, You want a
Mountainous.
If you start with an Earth type planet
in a low turn game, build it.
Do not waste time building other planets.
Oceanic produce a lot of organics and are
good to feed the Earth type or Mountainous,
so you can dump two or three ship loads
of colonists on it, but no more.
Virtually ignore a Volcanic until mid
game. They produce ore quickly, but
kill colos.
Mid game, when you've other worlds
full of organics and equipment,
ferry the goods first, then the
colos, which you pack into ore.
All you want is a Quasar cannon
on an Volcanic.
All other Planets, (unless the Sysop has
tweaked the specifications, which you
will check as you log on by typing (C)
then (J) are worthless.
