Earth: 2025

This game is entirely in Text, while that may sound boring and outdated there are many advantages to this game, many rewards from playing it as well.

It is billed as "The Worlds Original Interactive Webgame". Set in the future, it is your job to run and control your own country. Other people are playing too, each with their own country. Some people prefer to play solo, building their country peacefully. Other people may elect to join forces (with total strangers from all over the real world) and work for domination of the game. Some just want to be chaotic and see how long it will take before their country is killed off. Yes, you can fight, or net gain, you can kill or be killed.

There are several different "Servers" offering several different versions of the game, some allow you to form up with other players in things called "CLANS" while others let you go it alone. Each server game offer a start date and end date (usually 1 -2 months), although you can start at any time within a "set".

One of the things that is different about this game is that it is entirely in text form. Not a story book text where you are told a scenario and asked what route to pick from a series of options, but a game based on strategy and numbers. A war game without the blood. Sure, you might think, what is the point of playing a war game without blood? There are many advantages to this game.

  1. It is time controlled. Each person has a limited number of turns, thus while it can be consuming, it shouldn't destroy your personal or "real life".
  2. It is entirely FREE to play. Always a bonus!
  3. Because it has no graphics its fine on slower computers, or is good for kids whose parents do not want them exposed to some of the graphics in other violent games.
  4. You are playing with or against people from other areas of the world at any given time, you can learn from more experienced people.
  5. It has a slower pace, unless you are in a "KILL RUN" you can easily step away and get a snack or go to the bathroom without signing out.
  6. You can either run all your turns in a few minutes or spread them out. Everyone gets the same number of turns a day, how, and when, you use them is up to you.
  7. It is easy to learn, and does not require any fancy controllers.
  8. You can go on Vacation, the game offers a "Vacation Mode" which protects your country during your absence, or you can allow turns to accumulate for a bit.

This is an ideal game for people who like to challenge themselves. Because each "Set" has a time limit, and you have a finish date, you can make note of your net worth and try to beat it the following set. Or you can be competitive against thousands of other players in the game.

You control the government type, picking from Communism, Republic, Tyranny, etc. You control what kind of buildings you have, what kind of military you have, what kind of technology you have. You decide what your countries economy is going to be based on, perhaps agriculture, or manufacturing of military.

My Gaming Experience

I personally play on the Alliance Server, and am in a Clan called MKR, Mid Knight Riders. Clans offer training for new people so are a good place to start. Some clans are warring specialists, others prefer net gaining, and some do both, MKR does both. The Primary Server is considered a good place for new people to start. My best networth (as of Feb 2008, has been just over $43 million).

My Tips

My biggest tip to any one new to the game is to spend lots of early turns EXPLORING for land, and Building at least 180 CONSTRUCTION SITES (this helps speed you up on building other things).

Do not attack anyone more than twice, you might find yourself getting killed in return, especially if they have lots of allies or are a member of a clan.

Random play is fun, but if you join a clan you will learn how to run your country more effectively and play a PURE Strategy.

Don't cheat. You are only allowed one country per server. Cheaters can be deleted from the game.

For new people you may find very little benefit from building "Military Bases" early on. Save your money and build things that are of more benefit.

As a new player you probably won't ever run into this, but there is a "bug" that doesn't let you have much more than $2 Billion cash on hand.

I really think you will enjoy this game, I know I do.
