If you just are starting out there are a few things that will help you out a lot:
- Do ALL the quests you can you get a huge amount of XP and some times items if you do something stupid like talk to a NPC
- The grab hotkey is g. USE THIS!!! If you pick up all the items a enemy drops you gain money very quickly to begin.
- DO NOT use your 100% and 60% XP boosters you will use these later
- Don't be afraid to say you're a newbie. But look out for the obvious newbie traps, and also for a wile don't buy stuff from player's stands unless you know how much it is before you look for it.
If you have played for a couple of hours you should have gained anywhere from 5-10 levels. Now you should start looking for a Guild. There are many that will help you on your way. Also in Silkroad there is the academy system. It's the annoying exclamation point on the side of your screen. If you can join one do. Here is how it works. You fight and gain levels, some of your XP goes to the leader. This may seem bad but many leaders will powerlevel you for free to get more points. This is where you should use your 100% and 60% XP helpers. I did it once with the 60% and went from lv 6 to 23 in 3 hours!
Once you get to lv 20 you are allowed to play a whole new part of the game, Trading. You can choose to be a trader, hunter, or thief. Wait until you are lv 30 at least before you do this or people will be able to kill you very easily.
Once you are lv 20 you have to play a little bit differently. So here are a few more tips for you:
- Party up. Always join a party when you can. Preferably one with a healer. This is where being in a guild can help. You can just go out with your guild members.
- Use bigger potions. The Newbie potions you have been using were good for you but now they suck. You need the big ones.
- Dieing is now dieing. You cant stand up like you could when you were lower levels anymore. This is why having a healer in the party is a plus.
- Still do all the quests. Every little bit helps, and if you are going to kill them anyway you might as well get paid for it.
These tips helped me out when I was a lower level and I still use them when I make a new person. And above all remember to have fun playing Slikroad, after all its only a game.
