According to the rumours stirred up recently, Runescape is closing down on the 8th of September 2008. Even I at first when I read this I thought it was true myself but I did a little research and found out why Runescape is NOT closing down.
- First of all Runescape is the most popular game that JAGEX has ever created and has been getting payed the most from. If JAGEX does close down then it will lose all of its reputation as Runescape is the most popular Java based pay to play game in the world.
- Jagex will most likely have a chance of shutting down if it does close down runescape as the company "Jagex Limited" is estimated to worth about 32 Million pounds, that's more than 62 million US dollars! Fun Orb has only gained a tiny fraction of that amount.
- If Runescape does shut down then Jagex will have to fire about 300 of it's 400 staff. That is 300 people without jobs. Do you think that that is very likely?
- Although we all know that Runescape is no longer what it used to be since it took out pking (player killing in the wilderness), but nevertheless it is still a great game and they still have over 6 million active accounts, in which 1 million of them are paying to play.
- Also if you have not noticed yet, Runescape is one of the most popular multiplayer games where you can talk to anyone you like and meet new people.
- Also the people who claim that there is an article about how runescape is closing down in the browse articles section. There is NO article. I have checked myself through the whole articles section and there is NOTHING about runescape closing down.
I hope you liked these reasoning and I hope you are not gullible enough to fall for the trick that Runescape is closing down. If you have any questions or other reasons why runescape is not closing down please feel free to comment
