As all Runescape players now know the city of Varrock has been updated, due to this it now looks more like its time and its graphics seems to be catching up to other games. Along with the changes, they have updated the museum which now for members will allow you to earn ‘Kudos’ with the museum. This is what my guide is about. The point of Kudos is once the museum has the necessary requirements you will be able to go to a distant land and dig for items.
Kudos are earned through helping out with the museum, there are several ways to do so. The first is helping find digsite items for the lower level of the museum. These include pottery: Sarodomin and Zamorak, symbols, a chipped vase and old coins from Senntisten and Saranthium. To start you must have earned a degree in earth studies obtained during the digsite quest.
First of all go talk to Tinse Torpe or any of his fellow workers and he will ask you whether or not you want to help out, say yes and he will tell you that you will need a full set of work gear that includes a specimen brush, rock pick, trowel, leather boots and leather gloves. As he will tell you you can get them from the tool rack on the west wall.
Once you have done this, simply get a rock from the ‘Specimen Rock Pile’ and use it with the ‘Workbench’ your character will start brushing or picking away at the rock and after a few moments a item will appear in your inventory. If the item is not any item like a dagger or amulet use it with Tinse Torpe or any other workers and if it is of any worth the worker will tell you to put it in a display case.
Simply locate the case and use the item with the case and you will place it in and update the case info. For each case you update you will gain 10 Kudos. Once you update all empty display cases head on to the next step. Note: you may get everyday items such as iron daggers and amulets these are of no uses and should dropped or kept if you wish. As well as daggers and amulets you can also get ‘jewellery’ which can be sold to Tinse Torpe for 5 gold coins.
The second method of earning Kudos is to head upstairs and talk to Historian Minas , you will either ask him for him to tell you about the museum or tell him that you may have some informations that may be of some use to the museum displays. If you choose to tell him the information you will tell him stories of your exciting quests and hand over the items from the quest ( the items do not need to be with you ) he will then put them in a display case and for each case he adds he will reward you with an antique lamp that will give you 1000 experience in any chosen skill ( he will only give you a maximum of two ). As well as the lamp you will also be given 5 Kudos per display updated.
Lastly downstairs there is the natural history section, right by the stairs is a name bearing the name of Orlando Smith, talk to him and he will ask you to do a favour and update all the quizzes around the section. If you choose to do so simply go to each display and study the plaque it will bring up a screen asking you a question on the creature you have decided to do the quiz on.
Once you finish a quiz you will earn 2 Kudos, Once you finish all the quizzes head back to Orlando Smith and he will congratulate you and notify you that you seem to have become better at the slayer and hunting skills, which is indeed true you will have gained experience in comparison to the amount of experience you have already gained in the skill.
Once you have reached over 100 Kudos you will then qualify to go to the island near Mortyania to go dig with the other qualified digsite experts.
So that is Kudos and the updates of the Varrock Museum, I hope this guide is useful to you and I appreciate all comments and views.
