I'm sick and tired of seeing runescape game guides that just don't cut it. Im here to provide a short but straight to the point game guide of exactly what you should be doing up until level 60.
Level 1
Personally i dont recommend becoming a member until at least level 60. It would be best to follow things mentioned on this guide up until later on when you are more familiar with your surroundings and how things work.
After you have finished tutorial island you will arrive on the mainland. You are in a place called Lumbridge. If you leave the Lumbridge castle and head north there will be a few NPC's dressed in white and blue. These people will help you with extra equipment and good tips. Dont ignore these, they will help you.
If you keep heading north-east you should eventually come to a place called Varrok, this is a great nooby town, try to get comfortable here and get used to the surroundings. This will be an important place for you for a while.
Combat/Range/Mage: If you head north of the Varrok bank along the path, to your right you will see an Exclamation mark symbol on the mini-map , go into here , this is great training up until level 10 or so.
There are different ways of training when using melee and range. You can train strength by using aggresive attacks, defence by using blocking attacks and your general attack level by using accurate shots. It is recommended that your strength level is always around 5-10 levels higher than your attack and defense.
Attack and defence should be the same unless you are following a PK / Pure build off another guide.
Mining/Smithing: There is a great little mine just south of varrok that has loads of tin and copper. But sadly there isnt an anvil directly nearby unless you want to go down to Lumbridge.
Woodcutting/Firemaking: To the east of Varrok there is quite a few good trees to cut you can keep using this are right up until level 20 Woodcutting
Fishing/Cooking: You could leave the fishing out for a little while, get meat from things you kill in the sewer and cook them ( thankfully you cant get diseases in Runescape ) using the firewood you gather from east of varrok.
Prayer: With anything you kill, always gather the bones and bury them.
Quests: Cooks assistant, Rune mysteries, Sheep shearer, Impcatcher, Pirates treasure, The restless ghost, Romeo and Juliet, Goblin diplomacy, Ernest the chicken
You can keep following this up until level 20, remember to explore and try new things but dont get too confused or lost.
Level 20
By now you should have a fairly good idea on your surroundings, so now i'm going to expand your horizons and send you south west ( little south, far west ) To a town called Draynor Then you can go North west of draynor to a city called Falador. Draynor is directly west of the Lumbridge castle where you first came from. Just go behind the castle and walk east for a while. Then welcome to Draynor!
To get to Falador just go north west of Draynor, it's not very hard to find.
This is a great town to start fishing and expand your woodcutting abilities to willow logs just outside the bank. It's great all round in Draynor but there isnt any mining facilities.
Combat/Range/Mage: You could still use the Varrok sewers or you could explore around Draynor or Falador, this is recommended also to get use to the surroundings. You can train on the Stronghold of security in the barbarian village also.
Mining/Smithing: Use Varrok, You could use the dwarven mines in Falador but it's too dangerous for you at the moment. You can buy better pickaxes in the Dwarven mine.
To get into the Dwarven mine, go west of Varrok, past a little Barbarian village, then when you pass the village, head slighty north west until you find a path onto a mountain , follow it and head south on the mountain until you come to a Trap door.
These are the dwarven mines. You can mine here later but if you feel comfortable and can dodge level 32 scorpions be my guest to explore, but to get the shop, head south, then west then north. There is a general store then a pickaxe shop that sell pick's all the way upto Rune.
Woodcutting/Firemaking: Absolutely positively stay in Draynor for this. This is where you will be woodcutting right up until level 60 woodcutting and firemaking. You can buy better axes off players or at the axe shop in Lumbridge
Fishing/Cooking: Draynor is a great place to start fishing and even better to cook your fish here. Your cooking is higher than your fishing which is good because you wont burn your fish as much. You can buy nets and bait in Port-sarim, this is West of Draynor so you need to follow the Sea-shore until you come across a port, there is a fishing place there.
