Alright let's get straight to the point. You are here to become one of the most well known mages in the Runescape world. Well let's start off in Tutorial Island. You should get all of your moneymaking skills to level three so that you can make money to buy runes. When you are by the wizard in Tutorial Island drop the runes that he gives you and keep getting more. Repeat this until you have about 80-90 air and mind runes.
Get your magic level up to level three and leave Tutorial Island. Once you are out go to the bridge by Lumbridge and use your rune on the ducks in the river. After you are out of Runes go to the Magic Combat Tutor and get some runes. Use them on spiders and goblins behind general store. Now that you have leveled up one or two levels go do the Witches Potion Quest which will get your magic level up. Once you are done with that you should do the Rune Mysteries Quest. That quest will let you mine rune essence which you can make runes with or you can sell the rune essence for pure profit. Don't sell any essence until you have at least 500 of them.
I usually sell them instead of making my own runes. Once you have made enough money go buy an air staff. If you still have plenty of money go buy about 500-600 mind runes and some other elemental runes. Go to the Cow Field by mill in Lumbridge and kill cows with magic. Get their cowhides and sell them at the Grand Exchange and buy more runes. At around level twenty go and buy some chaos runes. Go to mining pit and stand up on cliff and shoot down at the scorpions with the Bolt Spells. At level forty-one you can do wind blast, so go and buy some death runes and some more elemental runes. Go and kill hill giants, take their big bones and sell them.
At level fifty-five you can do the High Level Alchemy Spell. This spell allows you to sell your stuff for some profit. If you have a high level smithing, high alc that stuff. Once you are 60 and up you can do whatever you want with your magic. I would suggest training on lesser demon in Wizard Tower. Then you can do whatever you want like go to Clan Wars and own/pwn noobs. Pwn- word that means own its just cooler saying that.
