At the end of June this year, Jagex raised the price of Runescape membership UK and USD, this is the first price raise since Runescape membership added in 2002, interestingly, the price raise was only for new members, the people that are already members will not pay the new price, they will pay the exactly same price as before this update until they quit then become a member again.
My opinion to the update
Over the past year, a lot of members stopped paying their membership fee because of the removal of Pk in Wilderness and unbalance trade, people think that these updates stopped them from getting “free” items and money in the wilderness and help friend of theirs by giving them a lot of money item. Jagex lost millions of dollars and stopped countless riots in Runescape, the company can barely run their business with the membership fee players paid, so they begin to think an idea that will let them gain more money, so they begin to think an idea that will give them more money, way more than they gain right now, so this update was made, it helped Jagex society to make more money than before but made new Runescape players to pay more money to enjoy the things only they deserve to enjoy. If you want to become a member recently, I recommend you to subscribe before the 4th of August, when the price is still the same.
