The world of Runescape, otherwise known as Geilnor has been through 5 Ages. This is a brief explanation of the history of Runescape.
The First Age – Creation (4,000 Years)
Geilnor, the world of RuneScape was created by the mostly known three gods, Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix. Guthix came to the land of runescape first, and started creating various lands and animals. After creating Geilnor he went into a deep sleep. After Guthix went into his sleep, Saradomin and Zamorak came to runescape at about the same time. The First Age lasted for approximately four thousand years.
The Second Age - When the Gods Walked (2,000 Years)
At this age it is said that many intelligent mortal races of Runescape came together to form civilizations. Not all the races have lived ‘till now, so much is not known. It is said that the gods have been interacting more often and directly with the mortals then they do now. The Second Age lasted for approximately two thousand years.
The Third Age - The God Wars (4,000 Years)
This Age was full the Age of the god wars. Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak fought over the land of Runescape for four thousand years. The age was full of cataclysmic wars until the three great gods came to an agreement to stop fighting between one another so as not to completely destroy Runescape. They agreed to influence runescape only three their worshippes and servants.
The Fourth Age - The Age of Mortals (2,000 Years)
This Age, also known as the Age of Mortals was when the mortals were finally able to grow and prosper. There was still fighting going on between the mortals to gain their land in Runescape. Advances in technologies were deliberate and strange undead necromancers arose messing up and destroying land they pass. Humans lived in small tribes trying to stay alive. Soon, they came across the secrets of ancient magic and magic rune stones.
The Fifth Age - The Age of Humans (Current Age)
The Fifth Age, and the current age, has been mainly about the humans. Human tribes multiplied into becoming big cities, and soon expanded into kingdoms. The discovery of rune stones were powerful and protected the humans. Everything was going well for the humans until the wizards allowed Zamorak followers to join them. The Zamorak followers betrayed the wizards and much was destroyed. The Zamorak followers are trying to take over Runescape once again, and it is time for new Heroes to save Runescape!
