It seems to me now, as I wander around RuneScape, that prayer is a skill long forgotten. Bones of defeated enemies are splattered all over the landscape, with urgency of being buried. I wonder why so few people train prayer, as it is an easy skill to advance in. All you have to do is find (on the ground, or by killing monsters) bones and then bury them. Although it is terribly time consuming at later levels, so do the rewards increase. Once you are at level 43, there are three total damage nulls you can choose from: Protect Magic, Protect Ranged and Protect Melee, each giving you total immunity to that type of attack from monsters (and a reduction from human players). There are even more rewards in store if you are a member, but even if you aren't (like I) there is still a lot to be gained. Prayer is part of your combat, and will increase your level if you have enough prayer. Maybe some people think it is childish to wonder around burying bones, but as the saying goes, "respect the dead", and by burying them you are doing just that.
When players die in Runescape, they take their three most valuable items with them, and leave the rest in a gravestone on the ground. The default is just a wooden sign, but can be upgraded by talking to Father Aereck after you have finished the " The Restless Ghost" quest. If you come across a gravestone, you can help it standing for longer (so the person can collect their items) by spending prayer points on it. The more prayer points you have, the more you can bless it, and the longer it will stand before crumbling. If you do this, good things will surely come your way, as what goes around, comes around in this world.
All this is good, so I wonder why it isn't happening so much. If you play Runescape, try to bury more bones. If you don't play, start now, it's a wonderful game.
i agree! but i dont do it that much and i will start today!

Don't tell them to pick up their bones! I'll do it for them! Lol.
Nice article. I do agree that it's silly that more people don't spend just a few extra seconds to bury some bones. In the end, it will help you. A LOT. I always bury my bones, and I even dedicate a bit of time every day to bury others' bones, so my prayer is my second highest skill now! Again, nice article you've wrote.

I'm a lvl 49 monk...,but I actually enjoy everyone else not burying bones. Because that means it's easy for me to lvl up.
And believe me the rewards are worth the time.
