Pastimes...Free...Hobbies. Do they all ring a bell? Well RPG(role-playing games) and MMORPGs(Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) have been increasing in popularity as well as demand. They have turned out to become a profitable sector of business-creating and improving games, sometimes for sale, other times not. Ever since their early implentation, RPGs and MMORPGs have consistantly been and have shown popularity in players of all ages-old and young. Why play RPGs and MMORPGs-for the pure reason of fun. You might've heard that question alot-what's the point of playing RPGs and MMORPGs?
They only teach you no values/ bad values and they are a good way to mess up your vision. Well, if you have got the time on your hands, play them. They might even teach you somethings-how to keep yourself alive, how to use and/or manipulate oppurtunistic chances, and even the fundamentals of the stock market. RuneScape(MMORPG)- I'd say this would be one of the better games in all standards: learning, fun, etc. Runescape is set in medieval times. It is free for the most part but in order to achieve more things you must pay a small membership fee varying on the different tecniques that you can use to get it. Runescape, originally Runecape Classic,teaches you of the main thing in life-how to make a living and how to make money.
RuneScape (often abbreviated as RS) can show you how to make items from various skills: smithing, fishing, cooking, mining, woodcutting, etc. This has a similarity to modern-day life: businesses that develop software and sell them to the public. There is also the concept of banking and storing items within your banks and setting security preferences for your banks like pins. Runescape is mostly a mathematical game if you think about it. Skill levels, experience till nevt level(xp), combat levels and the variables that they have, the list is endless.
RuneScape also has the benifit of players interaction with one another. They can converse, talk, make friends, make rivals, and make enemies out of each other. The one main disadvantage of Runescape is the mediocre graphics which are created using Java. However the graphics are not as you would think- they are 3d. Jagex will soon be offering a new graphical pack for all player- free and member.
