THE METHODS OF SCAM IN RUNESCAPE.
There are many scammers messing up Runescape. I hated scammers from the beginning because they mess up the game which is worth playing. Are you aware of the latest methods of scammers, well I guess you are not. I studied the scammers for nearly 5 months and came to know their latest method that even no one knows.
Scammers think that scamming Runescape is an art. Well it was, now it's not. Runescape is growing day by day. Many small Children of age below 10 years play Runescape. But the scammers don't worry of them that what these children will learn. My dream is that one day Runescape will be the fairest and safest game of internet.
I am mentioning the scams below.
Scam 1: MOD ACTING:
Players receive a false message in private chat that he or she is a moderator or his/her friend is a moderator and can help in making a member for free. Well it's a false. They take your account and change password then take all good items.
Scam 2: MOD ACTING 2:
Players receive a false message “I am a moderator. Sir, I have received # number of abuse reports. Please give your account password or you will get banned” well it's a false message. If that player is a moderator then he or she must be having a crown symbol near his or her username, and moderators never ask for password. If they want to ban your account then they simply do it.
Scam 3: ITEM SCAMMING:
When a person tries to sell something, then the scammers tells that he or she will buy it, offering a high price. Players usually become very happy that they are getting good amount and accept trade quickly so they get 5 k instead of 50 k. So always be careful while you trade.
Scam 4: SELLING ITEMS AT VERY HIGH PRICE:
Well this is the only scam which is considered legal in Runescape. If you send report than your report will be not considered. I have seen many people selling Charcoal and Polished buttons at very high price like 100 k, these things don't deserve this much high price they are easily available in member world for price like 10 gp. So be careful.
Scam 5: WINDOW SCAM:
It is a kind of a new scam. In this scam a player must be shouting “follow me if you have rare items”. Then that scammer will tell you to show items then scammer will tell ok if those items are tradable. Then scammer will tell to drop your items then press ALT and f4 together. This way your window will be closed and you will be logged out. So it takes few minutes to log in and by that time the scammer will pick your items and will never return.
SO ALWAYS THINK WHEN YOU DO SOMETHING IN RUNESCAPE.
