Stop Botters

Do you understand botters and what to do when you encounter one?

The difference between a botter and normal people is that a botter is usually a level 3 character. They will usually NEVER respond to you while they are training a skill. If they do respond it is either an auto responds or normal human. A good way to determine this is by asking questions that just doesn't fit the catergoery. A good question would be, "Hey, what did you do over the summer?". If there responds is something other than summer they are most likely a botter. If there responds clearly answers your question they are a regular player.

Why do people bot?

Many people bot because they find it hard to do things the normal way. They think because Jagex is updating on the skills and making it a lot harder to gain xp. They think they need to bot to get fast xp and usually end up getting banned. However, Jagex updates are pretty hard to bear with, many people find it hard to get xp. People also bot because they are planning to sell their accounts for real money. It is their way of making cash for a living.

Hot spots

There are several hotspots in Runescape where botters can be found but I will be listing 5 only.

Hotspot One

A real big members-only hotspot for botters is the flax fields. The flax fields are located south of seer's bank. Because many botters have been botting and banking the flax, prices of flax are going down quick. Before it was 100-110 ea. Now it is 90-100 ea.

Hotspot Two

Another big members-only hotspot would be Catherby and the Fishing guild. There are many botters banking the fish that they get and selling them. Many botters fish Sharks and cook them and sell them. This will explain the price of sharks going down. A couple of months ago cooked Sharks were 900 ea, now they are 750-800 ea!

Hotspot Three

Another big Free and members hotspot would be the Willows south of Draynor Village. There are bots ranging from 5-10 there that chop willows and bank them for easy cash. Many newbies now perfer the willows east of the Port Sarmin Bar, but even then, there are many botters.

Hotspot Four

Another big Free and members hotspot would be the Yew trees south of Edgeville Bank. Botters perfer the area because there is a bank right there for easy access. Yews are also very high in cash.

Hotspot Five

The Magic shop at Port Sarmin and the mage arena are big Free and members hotspots. Botters just go into the shop and constantly buy all death and chaos runes in stock. The money is usually obtained from skilling or drop trading from their main accounts.

As you can see, bots are ruining the game by making prices going low. They are also hogging up the trees for newbies that are actually trying hard to achieve a stat such as 99 woodcutting.
