Runescape is a very run of the mill MMORPG. Runescape focuses a lot of it's gameplay on leveling skills. These skills can often be leveled by doing menial tasks over and over. For example to level cooking and fishing together you will often have to either fish take the fish to the bank bank them and use them on a stove later, or fish, cut down a tree and light the logs on fire to cook them there drop the fish and start again. Though all in all the game is pretty fun and can be very amusing when you are bored.
The fighting system of runescape is the most basic of basic, you point, you click, it attacks. This method is very simple to learn but as the monsters get more powerful and if you are a member it gets a bit more complicated allowing for a more exciting fighting experience, as you will be eating food and casting spells and using special attacks. The fighting also relies on five main levels, attack, strength, defense, magic, range, and prayer. Attack allows you to wield weapons of higher quality and raises your damage a bit. Strength serves to raise your damage a higher amount then attack but does not allow you to wield any weapons on strength level alone. Defence allows you to take less damage and it also allows you to wear armors of higher quality. Magic allows you to use various spells armors staves and wands. Ranged allows you to wear leather armors and wield ranged items and arrows like bows and crossbows.
There are also several skill used to make items and harvest raw materials. Mining allows you to mine ores used in smithing. Smithing allows you to make armors and weapons and various other items from the ores you get from mining. Fishing allows you to fish with harpoons and nets and etc. Cooking allows you to cook various dishes using ingredients found throughout the realm of runescape.
