Cause
In the second age the RuneScape earlier known as Gielinor was under the control of Zaros. The second age ended when one of his generals named ZAMORAK betrayed him and defeated him. Zamorak`s men wanted to have complete rule over the Gielinor. So they destroyed the Wizard tower which helped SARADOMIN with victory. This annoyed Saradomin, who is the leader of good army eventually entered the scene to seize Zamorak and his evil powers.
War
They fought a war which is almost had equal army on both the sides. Demons, Dark wizzards and imps helped Zamorak while Saradomin knights, revenant knights, temple knights and goblins helped Saradomin. Eventhough Wilderness was full of skeletons those time revenant knights managed to win them as they had a little support from the saradomin knights near the wilderness ditch. Eventhough misthalin was under saradomin, A little part near the east Varrock was taken by zamorak.
Meanwhile, BANDOS played a tricky role to get some territory under his control. He had eight elite warriors who were called barrows brothers.
Result
This terrible war awakened Guthix who went into long sleep after believing that peace would flourish. Guthix got very much angry and prisoned all the Gods into a duegon. They were unable to fight eachother until the arrival of fifth age people in the year 2007.
