First, let's start off with the question, what is runecrafting? Well, runecrafting is taking rune essences, and crafting them into useable runes, for maging, and even selling. Now, for some reason, runecrafting isn't so popular these days, I don't know why, but it just isn't.
However, I have tried runecrafting before, and I will tell you my experiences, from it. Some of the time, it can be really boring, because all you do is click, click, and click some more. Trust me, it's a very boring task, and I would rather do many other things, than runecrafting. However, runecrafting is actually a very good skill, despite the boredom, involved in it, because of the result.
For example, you take some blank rune essences, that you happily mined, and make them into these rune stones, that you can use, for magic training. Also, you can sell your runes, as well, and you can even sell the essences, for 20 - 40 each. However, I recommend that you sell them, for at least 30 each, because that is the price these days.
You can craft the rune essences, into almost any kind of rune, all you have to do, is take it to the correct temple, and, as you know, there are many templates. Now, you might be wondering what a template looks like, and I will explain that to you, as well. Templates do not look like an actual temple, and you can't just walk around the world, and find one. Instead, you need to have a talisman that matches the element of the temple, and you have to use the talisman on the temple rock, to enter it. Did I just say temple rock?
Ah, yes, the templates look like temple rocks. If you move your mouse over the rock, and it says, "Rune Pillar", on it, then that means, that it is a temple rock. You can use either talismans or tiaras to get in, but either way, it's fine. Talismans, you just have to use on the rock, in order to enter it, while, for the tiara, you can wear it, and just click on the temple rock, to enter it. Either way, it's pretty much the same, but tiaras provide much more convenience, especially if you are trying to runecrafting quickly, and efficiently.
Enough of the explanation of basic runecrafing, now it's time to figure out how to enter the temple. So suppose you want to enter the fire temple. To do this, you will need either a fire talisman or tiara. I explained in the paragraph before, how to enter the temple, using the talisman or tiara, in case you haven't notcied. Well, that's how you enter them.
Now, it's time for the actual runecrafting. When you enter the temple, you will now actually see a building, or nature, or something related to that. There should be a rune pillar located somewhere around the area, which you should find, quickly enough. After you have found the pillar, you can just simply click on it, to craft your blank and dull rune essences, into magnificent rune stones! And, plus, once you have found a temple, you will know where it is next time, therefore making your runecrafting time faster. Just make sure that you have the rune essences, when you go to the temple, or else you would be going there for no reason.
Below, I have a list of temples, and where they are located.
- Water Temple - Lumbridge Swamp
- Fire Temple - Northwest Region, Of Al-Kharid
- Earth Temple - Northeast of Varrock
- Air Temple - South of Falador
- Mind Temple - Wilderness, West of the Black Knight's Castle
- Body Temple - West beyond the point of the fence, in Barbarian Village
As for talismans, you can obtain those, by killing certain monsters, and, for tiaras, you can craft them, if you have a high enough crafting level.
And, for the rest of runecrafting, you can figure that, all by yourself. Well, that's it folks, and goodbye.
