Hey everyone. Well, after hearing so many scam victims stories, I decided to write an article about it. Hopefully after reading this article, you will never fall for a scam again.
Item Duplicator Scam:
The first scam I will tell you about is the common Item Duplicator Scam. This is where someone offers to duplicate your Runescape items for free! Sounds too good to be true and yes, it is. This scammer will tell you that if you send him items and money, then he will double it for you. He obviously just wants to take the item and log off. This is one of the most common scams in Runescape.
Password Scam:
Heres a new scam that I never heard of before. Often people are bored and screw around with others. They will say something like: ?Look the game Blocks your Pass *******? then someone will type their password and it will not block it and the scammer now has another account. Even though you can get your account back, they will probably get your in and they will have probably already taken your items before you can change your password.
Email Scam:
This is probably the most annoying scam out there (and another popular one) the scammer will say something like: ?I work for Jagex and found out that if you just fill in this form and e-mail it, it will hack any account.? Then they add something that looks like something complicated like:
454a6a64eb6?,?USERNAME?,?46546789y4be9 789743:?,?PASSWORD?,?7897456 723u456;///{[ACCOUNT YOU WANT TO HACK]};46546g999
They make something like that up and once you email your username and password to something like RUNESCAPE_HAXORS@gmail.com, you just lost your account again!
The Personal Item Duplicator Scam:
This is where someone tells you how to easily duplicate your items. He will tell you to go to a non-crowded place, drop the items that you want to duplicate on the ground, and then hit: ALT+F4. ALT+F4 is the shortcut to quit out of the active program, which would be your Runescape window and will log you out. Congratulations, your items were just stolen!
Armor Trimming:
Lots of high leveling people say that if you send them armor, they will trim it. There is no such thing as trimming armor. They are just going to steal your armor and log out.
In conclusion, I hope that you think about this article if someone ever asks you to do something that sounds to good to be true. Sadly, Jagex cannot get you your items back after they have been taken so please never fall for these scams ever again. Thanks for reading this article and leave your feedback.
