Runescape Ranging for Non-members

Get your Runescape range up in no time.

From Levels 1-10

As soon as you get off Tutorial Island head across the bridge and north until you see a place with tons of chickens in it. Range them till you reach lvl 10 in range. Gather their feathers and bones and your arrows. Bury the bones and sell the feathers on the grand exchange. With the money you get from selling the feathers buy 25 cooked meat. Now head west until you come to the barbarian village. You will see an exclamation on the mini-map. Go down the entrance. Go through it until you reach the end. You will receive: 10,000 coins and fighting boots or colorful boots. Now head north until you see a house with a bunch of students in it. Go around back and climb down the hatchway. Talk to the guard and he will tell you to do some things. Once you are completed you need to take an exam and you will receive two lamps. Use one to get your defense up and the other on your range.

You will also receive (if you go down the hole): some gloves and another 10,000 coins.

Head to Varrock and buy yourself on the grand exchange the following: 500 iron arrows, cowl, leather body, leather chaps, oak shortbow, and boots (fighting boots decrease your range by 1). Wear the gloves you got in the second cave.

From Levels 10-20

Go back to Lumbridge and go across the bridge until you come to the cows. Fill them full of arrows; remember to pick up your arrows. Pick up the hides also and bury the bones. Once you reach level 20 head to Varrock and sell all the cowhides you have gotten for 100 coins a piece. Buy yourself a willow shortbow and 500 more iron arrows if you can afford it. Also buy a coif and studded chaps, if your defense is 20 buy studded body to.

From Levels 20-40

Train on the minatours in the Stronghold of Security. They'll drop iron arrows so there is no need to buy more iron arrows. Bring some food, about 10 trout will suffice. At level 30 buy a maple shortbow.

Level 40+

Buy yourself green dragon hide chaps and vambraces. Upgrade to at least steel arrows if you can afford. I would suggest training on:

Hill giants, level 28, good drops, always will drop big bones.

Lesser demons, level 82, many ranging safe spots for the ones in Karamja Island.

Moss giants, level 48, drop big bones.
