Creating an Account
First go to the Runescape website and look for create a new account.
Learning to Play:
In this part of the selection Runescape tells you when you first start how to play and what skills you have.
Safety:
If you have already done this or have just gotten done with your account setup, go to account management and click set recovery questions.
This is highly important to do because if you do not have recovery questions and your account gets hacked you won't be able to get it back. But if you're a member you can ask your parent to look at the number they gave you when you started your subscription for Runescape membership.
Runescape Membership
To do this you will need a parent or guardian if you are child over the age of 13. go down on the webpage and click “start new subscription” under where it says membership.
After this choose your payment option, the page should look like this.
After you get done with that they will give you a long number. Wright down that number or copy and past it to note pad and save as RS ID, this will help you when your account gets hacked put in that number and you can get your account back.
Remember: There are no cheats or shortcuts in Runescape. You should not enter your password on any site other than Runescape.com. Do not make your password the same as your Emails, Instant messengers, or any account that involves a password because if you do you can become more vulnerable and easily hacked.

If on any site it says something similar to this and it says to send to a email it is a scam so people can hack your account.
Ok when you are playing people will be saying “Jagex blocks your password look *******” Jagex doesn't block your password they are just putting the symbol “*” to trick you in to giving them your password.
Remember when you make trades remember to look at every screen to make sure you are not getting scammed for your money. Remember when making a trade and you don't know what a price is of a object they put up ask your friends what it might be or if you are a member go to the forums and ask about different things.

Making Money:
The way you make money in Runescape is to use your skills but when you do this make sure you have the right equipment for you level. Example lets say I have Forty-three woodcutting, I would need a Runite axe or rune axe. You can kill monsters around Runescape.
You can PK for money (PK means People killing) But you can only do this in the wild part of Runescape. A good way to make money is selling lobsters 100-150 each. You can sell yews for 250-300 each. In a members world pick flax and string it and sell for about 100-150 this gets up your crafting.
Making arrows and bows is a good way to make money and get your fletching up. Mining coal is good to ask people about prices on different mined substances. Well there is also the most boring way wait in certain places for 2 coins to pop up and take them. Also getting rune essence and selling it is good or if you are a member go law running with it.
Law running is when you go to Entrana island with nothing but 27 rune essence unnoted trade it to a person with a law tiara on and they will trade you 27 laws then go back to Draynor bank and repeat the process over and over again. You can sell laws for about 300 each.
Skills:
Nonmembers have the skills attack, defense, HP, Strength, Mining, Smithing, fishing, cooking, woodcutting(limited), fire making, magic, prayer, rune crafting(limited) and crafting.
Members have the skills attack, defense, HP, Strength, Mining, Smithing, fishing, cooking, woodcutting, fire making, magic, prayer, rune crafting, hunting, construction, slayer, fletching, crafting, herblore, agility, farming and thieving.
This is the wilderness ditch. It separates everything from the wild.

Quests:
In Runescape you can do these tasks called quests. There are quests for members and nonmembers. Members have more quests than nonmembers. Quests can help you gain money, skill points, and some items. For some quests you have to have done other quests to those quests. When you complete all the quests you are eligible to get a Quest cape. But once or twice every few months they will create new quests and for you to keep your cape you must complete the new quest. You can only get a quest cape if you are a member.
Capes:
There are many different capes but you can only get the capes if you have level 99 in that certain skill. But the capes aren't free they are 100k to get one and you have to talk to different people to get them. Not other players people like the Lumbridge guide. He will get you your quest cape.
Popular Scams To Watch Out For:
Selling worthless items like spinach rolls or weapon store keys for handfuls of cash stating that they are rare. Clearing cash off the trade screen at the last second and wishing the other player will not find out. That people are dropping rare items and tricking people into the wilderness where a crowd of people or a clan will quickly kill them.
Saying you can win three million to 100k by playing the trust game. Trust game is when you give a person expensive objects and they return it but when they get something really expensive they log out and you lose your stuff.
