Runescape Money Making: Mining Edition

This shows you where to mine and how much to sell the ore for.

Mining is a highly paying skill once you get to the right level.

To start with, you should get your mining level to 15 before trying to make money; this means you can mine iron ore which you can sell for 100gp each. I suggest you use the southwest Varrcok mining pit for iron mining.

If you want to sell coal you will need to mine 313 iron ore to get to level 30 (if you sell this iron ore you will get around 31300gp, this will easily get you a mithral pickax but if you just mine another 42 iron ore or 30 coal ore to make your mining level 31 you can buy a adamantine pickax and use it).

Now that you can mine coal you need to decide where you're going to mine. There are 10 mining methods and all have there own pros and cons.

The Barbarians Village Mining Spot

This has 4 coal rocks which isn't bad but it is usually crowded so it is sometimes difficult to mine there.

Stars: 1 ½

*North Crandor Mining Spot

This has 7 coal rocks which is really good but it is really far away far away from any banks.

*South Crandor Mining Spot

This has 3 coal rocks which is average and is really far away from a bank.

Stars: ½

Edgeville Dungeon Mining Spot

This has 6 coal rocks which is pretty good and isn't to far from the Edgeville bank.

Stars: 3 ½

Southwest Lumbridge Swamp Mining Spot

This has 7 Coal rocks which is really good and is quite close to the Draynor Village bank.

Stars: 4

Scorpion Pit Mining Spot

This has 4 coal rocks which is ok but it is a frustrating place to mine because it is so far away from any banks.

Stars: 2

Level 10 Wilderness Mining Spot

This has 31 coal rocks which is fantastic but since it is in the wilderness it's a bit of a risk.

Stars: 3

Low Level Wilderness Mining Spot

This has 3 coal rocks which is average but it is quite close to the edge of the wilderness and it's close to a bank.

Stars: 3

High Level Wilderness Mining Spot

This has 31 coal rocks which is excellent but it takes ages to get out of the wilderness so it really isn't worth it.

Stars: 1 ½

Dwarfs Mine Mining Spot

This has around 11 coal rocks which is ok but they are spread out a bit and it is usually very crowded.

Stars: 2

*You need to have completed The Dragons slayer quest to mine these rocks.

Note: The star rating is only based on the coal rocks, some of them are extremely useful (e.g. / High level wilderness mining spot has adamant rocks there).

SELLING

When you're` selling I suggest that you sell in quantities of 1-2k at the east Falador bank.

For iron sell them for 100gp each

For coal sell them for 180gp - 200gp each.
