When you become a member in Runescape, the place around you is big. There are so many ways to go and so many things to do. So where do I start you may question yourself. You may have seen some really cool items that member players were wearing in the free world, but don't try and look for those things yet. You probably need to do a really hard quest in order to get a hold on those really cool items. I would recommend you (if you have just started playing as a Runescape member) to start of with a few easy quests. Member's quests give more experience and better rewards than the ones you do in the free world. By completing those quests you may already get a few members level skills up in some places. Here are twenty-three easy quests for you to start off with:
- A soul's bane
- Biohazard
- Clock tower
- Death plateau
- Druidic ritual
- Dwarf cannon
- Eagle's peak
- Fishing contest
- Gertrude's cat
- Hazeel cult
- Jungle potion
- Monk's friend
- Murder mystery
- Observatory quest
- Plague city
- Priest in Peril
- Rag and bone man
- Recruitment drive
- Sheep herder
- The elemental workshop 1
- The elemental workshop 2
- The nature spirit
- The tower of life
Most of these quests you don't need any certain member skill level to start the quest. There may be a few where you have to gain some member skill levels to twenty or thirty, so just work on those for a bit. Working on these member skills can be quite fun. Once you have done all these quests you should have gotten some unique rewards (like the elemental shield and helm, the wolfbane sword, a pet cat, etc) and a few new skills upgraded.
Since you first arrive in the member's world it would be wise to click on the world map on the Runescape website. So keep that minimized and restore it when you need help finding the way - this could be a great help to you when doing a quest or looking for one.
If you're not feeling like doing any quests, you can take a look around the member's world of Runescape and explore it (be careful not run into any monsters, though). You could head towards the zoo of Runescape which is quite interesting. Or maybe you'd more want to explore the exotic jungles of the member's side of Karamja. Also, you may want to start competing in a few friendly minigames. Some minigames are dangerous; for you will lose you stuff if you die, while others are friendly minigames in which you won't lose anything no matter how many times you die. A great minigame you might want to compete in is the famous "Castle Wars" minigame.
Now you might have heard of the POHs (player-owned-houses). You can buy a one-room house and expand on it by creating more rooms and filling it with furniture. For certain rooms and furniture, you need to be a certain level in construction for building that particular room/furniture. So if you are interested in having your own house you can do so by going to the estate agent in Varrock, Fallador and a few other places. You can find him in the places marked with an image a house on your mini map in the right-hand corner of you screen. For more information on POH, follow these four simple steps;
- Go to the Runescape official website
- Click on Manual in the knowledge base
- Click on Skills
- Click on construction
On the construction page it will tell you basically everything you need to know about POH.
Now if you really want to do some more challenging quests to get those cool items you see some member people wear, then I suggest you start working on the Members skills or on your combats skills. Try to make the member skills all the same - about level 20-25. Most quests will require certain member skills to be at that kind of levels.
I hope this guide has helped you to a good start on your member's account.
Happy scaping!
