Some of the most common are, getting free stuff by sending your name and pass to there email, saying there Jagex and saying they need your pass for approval to make sure your the real owner, saying they quit Jagex because they were being unfair to other players, saying they can give you free membership if you give them your name and pass.
One item scam is they put up allot of money for a good item then they keep putting up items so you keep hitting accept but then they change the money really fast and hit accept for example 200,000 to 20,000 allot of people fall for this so watch what you trade carefully.
Another common way for people to get your account is downloads such as macros, autoers, and bots. Almost everyone of these files you find have key loggers so have good virus protection before you go out and download any thing.
Be careful when your downloading, trading, or surfing the web. Theres many more scams and hacks then these ones. So watch what your doing once you play the game or try to download things for it.
