Hi all and welcome to my tips about combat in the many worlds of Runescape. Firstly, I have chosen to write my first “skill” guide on combat due to some considerations. Altogether many people think that combat is a very useful skill in Runescape as there are more opportunities to…
- Become rich (not merchantanting I don't believe in it)
- Become strong (kill stronger players/monsters and get better drops)
- Because you want to be good at it (because you feel bored)
These tips will teach you to be more efficient to gain levels and tell you the requirements as well.
Items: The main item/s you will need is any weapon. Preferably the best weapon you can hold due to you get more xp points with bigger hits.
Best places to train: When you start out in Runescape, the first thing everybody wants to do is to get up other levels such as mining, woodcutting and fishing which are not main skills but what I like to call secondary skills. These skills will be easier to level up if you have a high combat. This goes with mining as scorpions will stop to attack you at a certain level making its that much more efficient to level up. Here are some places to train.
Level 3-20

Just west of lumbridge castle is where a swarm of level 5 goblins camp. I recon this is a great place for low levelled people to train as they are not too hard and they drop items which can be sold for small amounts of gold, just right for the new comers.
Level 20-40

Dark wizards are a great source of runes and they are fairly weak. They level 7 wizards are very weak as their max hit is only 2 compared to the level 20 dark wizards with a high rate to hit at 5. Note: these are only good to verse if you have a high level to kill level 20s or if level 20s don't attack you.
Level 40-60

To kill hill giants a minimum of 40 combat is strongly recommended. To get to the hill giants, you must first enter the Edgeville dungeon (see on map) and near the exit, there should be zombies and a key is lying on the floor here. It is a good idea to pick it up so next time it won't take as long. Hill giants are a extremely good source of xp as they have fairly good drops and they drop big bones for good prayer xp.
Level 60-99

Now that you have gained a fair bit of levels and wish to get stronger, this is the place for you. A high fishing level is recommended especially players with low defence or low combat of the suggested level. This will include level 60-65. Over here, you can put up a fish with a lesser demon. These are the second strongest wild monsters in the game and are around level 83. These demons have good drops including rune meds. Extreme caution is advised on the first time you fight these monsters. This is also a good way to find out if you can beat Elvarg (dragon slayer).
Well I hope that sums it up. This was what I did to gain my combat level to level 73 (my combat level when I wrote this) and remember that gaining levels isn't an easy task as I explained before that levelling up takes time. This game will take days before you can become strong. Note: this guide contains information that I have experienced. This means that it is not my responsibility if you die and loose items. The best thing to do is you think you can win run away. Do not blame me for any deaths you may experience from as I have just told you how to avoid them. Thanks.
