Hello my name is Kyle and I shall lead you so called n00bs of mining to go on the way to a guild master! Well....maybe not. ;)
Well first if you have just passed your training at the training island, then you should be at Lumbridge aka Lumby. Well if you have some money I recommend to buy a pickaxe or two, but maybe you don't want to pay for your pickaxe! So you should then talk to the sword trainer at Lumby and get a training sword and shield. He is by the general store next to the archery trainer and the magic trainer, you can skip those but one thing the archer can only give out a bow and arrow once every half hour. Same with the magic trainer, and you have to choose ether magic or archery because they wont give both out at the same time. Once you have armed your self to the teeth proceed to Port Sarim and watch out for goblins on the way. Do not what so ever go near the jail for there are level 10-16 guards there.
On your way to Port Sarim you may also encounter level five Highway men and and level five goblins ignore them if you don't want to die, oh and Highway men are aggressive and they will attack on site, my tip is to run! Once your there pick some cabbage near by past the pig pen and past the wall to heal heath if you lost any. Then head down to Rimmington
and go past the mining site and go next to the general store and you will find a pickaxe spawn point in a near by house. You will see it on your radar as a red object, red on your radar means that there is a object that you can pick up and use in that area. The pickax is on a table in that house pick it up and the go to the mining spot you just passed and mine tin and copper, make sure to get a even amount of copper and tin, because you need it to smelt to make a bronze bar which you can then take down to Varrock and smith in to a knife,ax and as you gain skill more weapons and shields. You may then sell those or go and fight with them.
