Ok so you want to make millions of GP in Runescape, but do not know how to do it? Don't have the skill levels to mine hundreds of coal or chop hundreds of yews? Look no further I will teach you the basics of merchanting!!
So what is merchanting? Basically it is buying an item in mass for a certain price, then selling for more. The money you make is profit, and that's what merchanters like .

Part 1
First of all you will want to have a base of 100,000 gp or more. You can easily acquire this via a couple of different methods.
Mining
Mine 3k Rune Essence and go to World 1, Varrock East Bank, sell for 35-40 ea. Someone will buy immediately, if not go to World 3.
Woodcutting
You will need 30 Woodcutting for this. Chop 3.5 Willows, go to World 1, Varrock west bank near the guards and sell for 30 gp ea.

Fletching
If you are a member then simply chop normal trees and make into shafts. Then train on chickens until you have 4k Feathers + 4k Shafts. Now make them together and sell for 20 gp ea.
Part 2
Now you have earned your initial 100k, you can start merchanting. There are many different items that can be merchanted. Most of the good ones will be explained. Merchanting can involve buying from NPCs (Non-Player Characters eg. Shop Owners) and from other players. When buying from other players always check second trade box because there are scammers everywhere.Go Next page!
Merchanting Rune Essense
Go to a world with 1500 + people, preferably 1800 people. Head to Varrock East bank, and place yourself in a corner where people can easily click on you. Now type white:shake: buying ess 30 ea - Insert name. After around 30 minutes you should have 3k ess. Go to world 1 and sell for 38-40gp ea. Go back to worlds and buy for 30 gp ea. Repeat this process until you either get extremely bored or have accomplished you target cash amount. (Lets say 350k, it should take you around 2-3 hours, depending how fast you type, etc.)
If you want to merchant laws you must first have around 350k. Buy 1k laws for 350k (Go to tip it forums - http://forum.tip.it/), this process make take a while but will be worth it. Go to Varrock west bank, near the stairs which go to basement. Then sell laws for 390 ea. They will run out quickly. The selling part of this only takes around 45-60 minutes. You repeat this until you have the amount of money you want.
Merchanting Adamant arrows
This is the most simple merchanting process ever. It could not get any easier. You go to each and every world, buying addy arrows until there are only 550 left. (It should be at 600 when u get there, so buy 50 from each world.) Every 50 addys you buy only cost around 4500gp. Go to around 20 Worlds (Should take 1 min/world). Now go to world 1, in the arrow store in Varrock. Sell your 1k addys for 150 ea. People should buy pretty quickly, if not you could say 140 ea. Repeat this process daily, or hourly. 40-60 Mins = 60k+ Profit. Yum
General Merchanting Tips
Using a program such as an auto-typer is illegal in jagex, but all the best merchanters use one. If you want one go to runekeep.net, it's the first download. Also always remember to change worlds if you are competing with others to buy an item. Hiring permanent workers could also be a good idea.
