Runescape Game Review

My opinion on the MMORPG Runescape

Runescape is one of the most well known games in the English/European gaming community. It is unique and made in a way which is totally addictive and is updated every week or so.

Starting off :

You start off in tutorial island, where there is lots of help and training for nearly every aspect in the game. When you depart from tutorial island, it can be a bit intimidating, but jagex ( the game makers ) thought of that aswell. When you arrive on the mainland, there is even more help available which guide you around and give you starter weapons on top of the things you start off with, nearly a full inventory of gear to help you ! Excellent.

Non-member aspects :

The non-members portion doesnt have alot to offer. I completed most of the non-member quests within a day, but you still get to use around 12 of the 20 skills available to members, which is good if you are a casual gamer as this still provides a few weeks of happy gaming.

Security :

Runescape is big on safety of accounts and take their rules and regualtions into action with a Stronghold of security ! Available to non-members and members alike , the stronghold is a fun mini-game that gives you rewards to answer questions based on security , and reawrds you further for setting recovery questions etc. I admire Runescape for this.

Runescape is also one of the most unhackable games on the net, but does have alot of Bot / Macro issues.

The pro's of Runescape:

  • Addictive
  • Lots of quest with a large variety
  • Plenty of mini-games
  • Unique gameplay
  • Easy interface , especially good for starter players
  • Cheap to afford membership compared to other games
  • Well known / Lots of other players

The cons of Runescape:

  • High addictiveness
  • Lots of scammers
  • Bad graphics
  • Very repetitive in terms of training skills
  • Nearly all pro's mentioned above are only available to members

The bad graphics could be open for debate because even though it isn't as good as some games and has the potential and possibly money to do better, the way runescape looks is it's trademark in a way. It wouldnt be runescape if it's graphics suddenly changed into the likes of WoW or FlyFF.

Overall i'd say that my gaming experience in runescape was a very positive experience, and i would recommend it as a boredom buster to anyone that reads this.

Just try play it casually. If you know its getting too addicting just try play it less and less each day until you feel happy
