In this guide I will give you hints and tips on money making, merchanting, and becoming a millionaire! I've personally tried all of these and know what they all work! prices will be current as of 6-13-07. In this guide I'll explain how to make over 900k at level 3! Follow the instructions in my guide and you'll be a millionaire in no time.
Merchanting overview: Merchanting can be your best friend if you know how to do it. The rule to making a profit while merchanting is very simple: Buy Low, Sell High. There are many other rules you need to follow in order to successfully merchant.
Be firm with your prices! Don't drop your prices because you're not selling, eventually you will.
Be friendly! No one wants to buy from someone that just called them a noob.
When buying, try to get the seller to lower the price. haggle with him. If he's firm, then just pay the full price.
Spell with proper grammar. No one wants to buy from someone saying "S311ing 41r run35 lawlz" just type like a normal Person.
It helps to listen to music or browse forums or something while you're merchanting. Merchanting can be pretty boring, so have something to do while you're doing it so you don't go crazy from boredom.
It takes money to make money. Don't be afraid to spend all your money on the items listed in this guide. It'll definitely be worth it in the long run.
Always make your typing bright and nice looking. When I'm buying or selling, I always write: Cyan:wave2:Selling xxxxxx, xxxx ea!!===lacrosse fan (my in game name) so it's not just that same old boring yellow type, people can see who I am, what I'm selling, and for how much.
ALWAYS HAVE A CALCULATOR OPEN. Whether it's your computer calculator or your real life calculator it doesn't matter, but always have one ready.
Without further ado, here's my Runescape f2p money making guide!
Air Running:
0-100k
Difficulty: Low
Time: Long
World(s): 16
Rating:7/10
Requirements: Rune mysteries Quest, Air talisman/tiara
On world 16 near Falador bank, you'll see a bunch of people running around together. Why? because they're running to the air temple and back. Air running is a pretty popular thing, because it's a way to get 2k for free.
All you need is an Air talisman (or tiara), 25 UNNOTED essences, and a lot of patience. What you do is you get 25 unnoted essences, and rune to the mysterious ruins (follow someone to get there if you don't know how) and use your talisman with it. it'll teleport you. After you get teleported, look around for someone that is saying "Open" or "Open 2k" and trade them. put up your 25 unnoted essences and he'll put up 2k cash and 25 noted essences.
Accept and you'll have 2k and 25 unnoted essences. Run back to the bank and deposit your 25 essences, and withdraw them back out unnoted, and run back to the mysterious ruins. Find someone else (or the same person) saying open, trade them your unnoted essences and you'll get 2k and 25 noted essences. Run back, unnote them and repeat until you have 100k. Air running takes a long time but is a foolproof method of getting money.

What you do to is you go to the chicken coop near lumbridge, or in the champions guild (32 Quest Points required) and start killing chickens, they probably won't even cause any damage on you, regardless of your level, and pick up ALL the feathers they drop. They drop 5-15 feathers almost every time, but occasionally they won't drop any.
After you get about 5k feathers (should take about 30 minutes to an hour) go to the Runescape forums, and look around for a thread saying "buying feathers 7-10 ea". Since you're f2p you won't be able to post, but you can still read the threads and sell to the people buying feathers, add them to your friends list and tell them you're selling your feathers. If you got 5k feathers like I said, the very least you should sell them for is 35k, or you could go to Varrock world 1 and say you're selling feathers 7-10 ea, that works too.
After you've sold your feathers you will hire other people to get the feathers for you. Just go to the lumbridge Chicken Coop and tell the people there you'll pay 3 gp per feather, hire about 5-10 people there and tell them to sell you the feathers every 1k. so 5 people selling you 1k feathers for 4 ea is 20k. now you sell those 5k feathers for another 35k, bringing your total to 45k. Repeat until 100k.

i have a better way too make money mine clay then buy 8 buckets (mine about 1k of clay) go to a fountain fill the buckets and mix the clay in the buckets getting soft clay reap[eat until you have finished making all your dry clay into soft clay (1k dry clay=1000 clay make all 1k of clay into soft clay) then 1k of soft clay will sell in the grand exchange for about 170k repeat until you have plenty of gold trust me it works i have 1m from doing this it takes a bit of time but its worth it trust me =]

Heres my tips for good ways to make money!
-[f2p](lvls...any)
this is better when you are a low level because you can raise combat and raise good money at the same time. Try killing cows on Lumbridge and take their cowhides. Sell these cowhides in the Grand Exchange (100-125gp ea!)
-[f2p](lvls..high mining lvl)
Try mining coal. Sell it in grand exchange (about 200gp ea)
OOOOR mine gold[lvl40 mining] sell for over 400gp each!!

buy for lowest price 1k-1.5k logs (regular) for lowest price, sell for highest and make at least 6k. with 3k regular logs you can make 12+K! also, i find for 1500 logs, hire 15 people to each get you 100 for lowest price then sell all at onc at max price, time: medium. I say it helps to have a friend online or train on hills while workers get logs. Btw, hire them at GE, and have them meet you there when they're done.

try it: if u r lvl 30 in mining and lvl 40 smithing, go for 100 coal, and go for 200 iron ore, then, smelt it into steel bars and sell it at ge, u have 100 steel bars and each bar cost 600, and done! u can make 60k! very easy!

get clay from levels 1-21 mining
turn into soft clay
sell at ge for 160gp ea
then once u got 21 mining get mith pick n mine iron
get level to 30 while mining iron
then mine coal
get 100 iron n 200 coal smelt to steel bars
600 ea
easi 60K
100 soft clay = 16k
thats about 4 invents

i no an easy way for mems to earn 100k-500k an hour all u have to do is buy about 20 camy teleports then tele go north to the hunting area and hunt polar kebets only keep the fur u can get 1800 each thats how i made 10m in 1 day.

i got a good way of merchant. ok first you go to port sarim and buy fly fishing rods. and if someone wants to give u money, trade the fly fishing rods to a player for 76 gp. btw the fly fishing rods cost 5 gp at the store =) enjoy!

i usally start the game with raising my attack and defend to 20 then i just mine 500 tin and copper and sell them in G.E for about 100k then i just start mining 1000 iron then sell them for another 100k. Thats my best way to make money now i do the lobster merchant now im lvl 18 in combat level and i have 7 mill.

I agree with Lord... The best way for making money for me is to buy coal and iron at G.E for about 400 gp together and the smelt somewhere and then sell steel bars to G.E for about 650 ea.
Thats 250gp profit for every bar u make. and each time u make more money u can buy more coal and more iron sooon u'll have ur first mill :D
Ps: havent tried the clay thing yet...might b bettr not sure

hey its me agin and i love the tips on how 2 sell things and b nice and stuff but the ways i dont like so much. This way is preatty tough but once u get 2 it is great!!! The hard part is raising ur mining. u have 2 get it 2 lvl 85. then u can mine rune ore they sell 4 about 12k each!

As my friend Mckay041997 told u some tips i told him i have some more! U could kill the kalphite queen which drops dragon med helm, dragon 2h, and dragon chain. or u could kill the kbd (king black dragon) for black d hide dragon med helm, 3k, and more. last you could kill fire giants in the wildy in a member dungeon ( they drop rune scimmy, dragon weapons, rannars, and more)!!!

I found another way 2 make good money!!!
if ur a mem, go 2 the tree gnome stronghold and collect swamp toads that r near the tortouse things. Then go 2 the bank inside of the tree and reapeat this untill u have enough. If u follow the tips that r on the top of the site then ull get about 10k a trip!!

ok my ways to make money
1.mine gold from the crafting guild (south of fally)u need 40 crafting tho.../i bring 3 air,1 water and 1 law runes so when i get 25 gold ore i tele/they just made a update for f2p too the lumbridge/ draynor acheivment diary. do all of them and u get a ring that will allow to to tele to a cabbage patch this helps make the trip shorter thats what i do.u make about 13k if u sell at ge. works pretty good.
2.ok right now im smithing on runescape i have 48 smithing once i get 50 smithing i will make serious money. ok buy like
1-500iron ore and 2-1000 coal,(it depends on how much money u have to start with)BUT MAKE SURE U HAVE 2 TIMES AS MANY COAL AS U DO IRON IT STINKS WHEN U COME UP SHORT!so when u get all the iron and coal u want go to alkharid(east of lumbridge) and from the bank take out 9 iron ore and then hit all coal AFTER u take out the iron ore,u wil make 9 steel bars for every trip deposit and do it over again,this method works well if u have lvl 30-49 smithing.
3.if u have 50 smithing get around 2-5 friends to help u get coal ore. if they can mine mithril have them mine some, but not all,tell them to trade u 2k at a time so u will have to pay quite a bit of money depending on how much u buy at a time.then smith them into mith bars when it comes down to it and your friends want u to pay them u have 2 choices...1.do the right thing and split the profit with them,use the party room works well if u only do around 25k at a time so other people dont come.2.or keep all the money and say someone hacked your account...worked for me!
3.wc yews, everone knows that so i wont explain it.
4.u can merchant but i wouldnt trust that the prices will stay the same so u might lose a TON of money that way or make a TON so its your choice.
well thats all i can think of right now i might come up with a few more but these work right now i have a bout 20k in the bank lol but in about 2 hours ill have 400 steel bars(around 250k)=P

i find that fishing for lobsters work best. simply bring a lobster pot and some money, sail to Karamja island, run back to draynor bank, and repeat. I make about 100k a day with this method, at least.

i'll write it again =/ firstly lobs are 303gp last time checked which was yesterday !! 2nd november 2008 !!
if you can buy loads of those lobbys and sell them for 10gp higher than thier normal price in G.E. make like 100k profit if you sell 10k of em. good money i'd say.
god armour (NOT SARA) and rune g is good to merch with buy all the peices at med price each and sell like 10-30k higher and keep repeating, thats fast cash.
oh now there is a update in ge (1November 2008), you can only buy 2 of the same god armour for 4 hours.....e.g. you buy 2 zamorak full helms, you have to wait 4hours to buy another 2 zamorak helms from ge.
if you manage to buy loads of deaths like couple of gp over their lowest price that would would be worth selling for medium as you would make an ok ammount of cash.
merching is basic and easy, buy low and sell high, i've got about 8mill and almost at green mask merching,

im not sharing any of my secrets. Im not a skiller and Ive almost got my first mil. I already do if you count how much my armor costs. Im lvl 71 btw and im going to try my luck at pvp. My mage noob did well with melee. I havent died yet (go lobs!). If you just started playing and cant manage to barely get 1k pick a full inventory of potatoes and sell them on the grand exchange.

Just simply cut yews and sell at G.E, I know it takes a long time, but if you go to less populated world you can cut yews really fast and still sell.
