In RuneScape you always see people with the best items and wonder how they got all that money. You also will find guides claiming they have a secret that will make you rich even if you are a low level. This is not true the best ways to make money are training a skill such as mining or woodcutting.
Once you have enough money from selling ores or logs you can them consider becoming a merchant. The basics to this are to buy low and sell high. This takes practice and time to learn because you need to know if you can get the seller to lower their price even further or if this is as low as they will go.
You also need practice to learn the prices of items even though the prices are constantly changing. To start merchanting you need about 50k because you need to spend money to make money. A first easy merchant you can do is buy coal for 100g and then resell for 150-180g in world 1. This is a good way to start your training as a merchant and as you practice you will begin to see item prices and realize when you should buy and when you should walk away. After time you will become more comfortable and this is when you start making the big bucks.
