Rumaac 1: Alchemizing

After quite a long time, here's the first, official Runescape's Magical Academy - Rumaac - guide! Based on the alchemizing, it explains the basics of this spell. Enjoy, and I hope it will be profitable for you!

As everybody knows, alchemizing is an important aspect of Runescape's economy. In this first lesson, I shall try to explain you the main principles of this spell.

Low Alchemy

I shall be very brief for this part. Low Alchemy is an almost useless spell: bad xp, bad money. Furthermore, you need a nature rune, what can turn out extremely expensive if you don't have 44 runecrafting Finally, I do not advise you to make this spell, given the number of disadvantages.

High Alchemy

The true lesson begins here. Alchemizing really is the action of using high alchemy, not low alchemy. Take note that to obtain the best results/profits, you will need to possess at least some of the following skills or items:

  • 55+ Magic: it's the level it requires to cast the spell)
  • 70+ Fletching*: yew longbows are great items to alch, as they are rather cheap to make and they good extremely good money!
  • 44+ Runecrafting: you need 44 runecrafting to craft your natures
  • 60+ Woodcuting*: to easily obtain your logs and fletch them in yew longbows
  • 10+ Crafting* : to string your flax into bow strings
  • About 100k
  • A fire (battle)staff, or Lava battle/mystic staff: it costs 5 fire runes per spell, so wearing a fire staff is a great advantage

*Please note that to cast high alchemy, you don't need any fletching

Don't forget that you can simply buy items and the nature runes (although you will lose money!)

The Process

Step 1:

Buy or cut as many logs as you want.

Step 2:

Do the same, but for bowstrings, this time.

Step 3:

Cut all your logs into yew longbows (u)

Step 4:

String all your bows.

Step 5:

Craft all your natures (using the Abyss, preferably).

Step 6:

Take all your bows in noted form and place them on the same inventory spot as the High Alchemy spell.

Step 6:

Equip your fire/lava staff and cast high alchemy on your noted yew longbows!

*Note that the experience never change (65 per alch), careless of the item you alchemize, or alch (common language).

The Advantages

There are many advantages at using the method mentioned above.

First, it gives extremely good experience in fletching, woodcutting, runecrafting, crafting and magic, obviously!

Second, it's a good way to earn cash! The yew longbows give 768 gp each when alchemized!

The Disadvantages

The only disadvantage I could say to this method is that it can be quite boring. Just don't give up ; you could end up with fletching and maybe magic and woodcutting skillcapes!

It's all for this lesson. I hope you will enjoy doing this, because the rewards are great! Good experience and… good money!

nice guide, helps a lot too. But will really help me if i am a mem lol, i wish i would beocme one. U should have specified the profit, like the amout required to buy nat runes or so and using thm for high alch, and gaining profit. But, wait, what was the 100k for any ways???=)

nice guide, but you dont have to actually alchemize the bows. So you can just sell them at the grand exchange. So that should cut some time down.
