Hi, my name is jjd4eva. I play Runescape a fair bit and was a bit low on cash and wanted to buy full Guthans around 8 million GP. I had around 1 2 million at the time but couldn't be bothered to merchant 6 million because that's boring.
So the way were going to make money is by killing Ankou.
The ones we will be killing are the lvl 75 Ankou, they have 60 hit points and they always drop bones. Bet your wondering this sounds rubbish but it's definitely not. I'll show you why. They drop 5 or 11 blood runes which can be sold for a minimum of 500 ea, 6 or 14 adamant arrows which are about 150 to 200 ea, 10 death rune 300 ea, weapon poisons 5k ea, 15 noted pure ess 100 ea they are the main source of income and are very common drops.
Also you could get lucky and get a lvl 3 clue scroll, a rune spear, a dragon half shield if you have completed the legends quest, or a half of a key.
Stats:
These are the stats you should have for going to the Ankou to kill them efficiently:
- Attack: 70 (for whip or barrows)
- Strength: 70
- Defence: 70 (to wear barrows armour)
- Prayer: 43 (to use protect from melee to stay there longer)
These Are My Stats:
Goal Stats:
- Attack: 80
- Strength: 90
- Defence: 75
Equipment:
For players with not so much money you should have a similar set up to this:
- Helm: warrior helm (gives 3+ strength bonus) or rune full helm
- Amulet: Glory or strength
- Body: Rune platebody (cheap and effective)
- Legs: Rune platelegs
- Shield: Rune defender (5+ strength bonus) or rune kite shield
- Ring: Wealth ring (better drops)
- Boots: white (prayer bonus) or climbing or rune
- Gloves: Any
- Weapon: Dragon scimitar or Dragon Dagger
- Cape: any cape
- Arrows: none
For player with more cash to spend:
- Helm: Dharoks helm
- Amulet: Strength or Accuracy or Glory
- Body: Dharoks platebody
- Legs: Dharoks platelegs
- Shield: None
- Ring: Wealth
- Boots: Climbing, white, or, rune
- Gloves: Best Recipe for Disaster gloves
- Weapon: Dharoks Great Axe
- Cape: best you can wear.
- Arrows: None
For players with lots of money:
- Helm: Guthans Helm
- Amulet: Guthans platebody
- Body: Guthans platebody
- Legs: Guthans plate skirt
- Shield: None
- Ring: wealth
- Boots: White, Climbing or rune
- Gloves: Best Recipe for Disaster gloves
- Weapon: Guthans War spear
- Cape: Best you can wear
- Arrows: none
Getting Started
First off you will need to buy some food.
The best bits of food to take are:
- Lobsters 200ea (heal 12).
- Monkfish: 300 ea (heal 15).
- Baked potato with butter and cheese 9 ea (heal 16) buy from warrior guild.
You need to buy around 1000 of the food you are buying.
That is all you need to do to start “Ankouing”.
Your inventory should look like this before you go:
The best place to start is at Edgeville bank:
When you get into the forth level of the stronghold this is the way to go:
This is where you should stand!
When an Ankou appears run to it because there are usually lots of people there.
This is what my inventory looked like after one trip:
- 12 laws: 300ea = 3600 gp
- 100 pure essence: 100 ea = 10000 gp
- 6 weapon poisons: 4k ea = 24000 gp
- 80 deaths runes: 300 ea = 24000 gp
- 106 blood runes: 500 ea = 53000 gp
- 9 adamant arrows: 150 ea = 1350 gp
- Total amount = 91950 gp
That's nearly 100k a trip and your getting your levels up.
