It takes a very rare person to actually admit “yes, you're better than me” without being obnoxious about it (for example “omg its zezima”…I can only imagine how irritated he is). It takes an even rarer person to admit “yes, I am a noob”. Not only is everyone better than everyone else, but everyone is a noob, too. Whether you like it or not, the word “noob” has taken on such a general meaning that everyone is a noob in the eyes of someone else.
If you reflect on the early days of your playing (lets say around level 20), you will quickly realize that most likely, you didn't think you were a noob then. Now you do. On my very first day of runescape, I had no clue how people got skulls over their heads. When a mugger attacked me, I thought that it was a real player and asked myself, “Why didn't he get a skull”. After I died, I quickly became disoriented and had no clue how to get to varrock or where I was. Back then, I thought I was relatively smart. Now I know differently.
What can you take away from this very short blurb of opinion? Well, next time someone walks up to you and calls you a noob, just keep in mind that they're right! Also, next time you say you're better than someone, don't worry; someone out there (probably a “close friend” of yours) is insulting you behind your back. Overall, the absolute, unavoidable truth is that runescape has bred the largest pool of arrogant players that can be seen in the gaming community, and hopefully runescape-enthusiasts will do what they, no-we, can in order to reverse this attitude.
