There are a few things I have found that can help to make money even with the update of the Grand Exchange. This is mostly for members.
- Buy as much iron ore and 2 times that amount of coal that you can afford. Free players can smith this into steel bars and sell for a little profit, but members can make them into cannon balls and sell for even more profit. It takes about 2.5 times longer to make cannon balls though, but can be worth it. This is also good smithing experience.
- Buy as many limp roots and Tarromin pots (UNF) as you can afford. Make these into strength potions and combine them so that they are (4), this will decrease the amount of potions, but can increase your profit. Now sell them on a free bounty hunter world for 1k each. Good for training Herblore.
- Buy as many regular logs as you can afford. Fletch them into arrow shafts and put them up for sell for whatever price you want. The lower the price, the faster they will be sold. This can still take a while though.
- Buy as many willow logs as you can afford. Fletch them into willow long(u) and put them up for sell. This is basically the same as number 3.
- Buy as many oak logs as you can afford. Take them and make them into planks and sell. This gives you no experience, but you can still make money from it.
- Buy Ranarr seeds. Plant them. Make sure to use super-compost and/or watch them. Sell the grimy Ranarrs or make them into unfinished pots and sell them. Don't finish unless you want them for personal use. You will lose money if you make them into prayer pots and try to sell them.
- Buy essences, pure or regular, and make them into runes. The higher your Runecrafting, the more you make. I advise at least 40 Runecrafting.
