What You Will Need
- About 3M+
- About 2+ hours a day on your computer
- Runescape knife
- Some type of axe.
- 20+ Woodcutting
Step 1: Starting Out (Levels 1- 40)
You will start on regular trees, using your axe, simply cut down a full load, and turn them into arrow shafts. Do this until about level 20 where you should switch to oak shorts/ longs.
Once at oak longs/ shorts you will go to the trees and cut them once again with your axe. You will make bows (U) but you will not string them. You have the choice to bank them or just drop. If you want to bank I recommend that you do it in front of the Camelot bank, there are trees just a click away from the banking spot.
Once you do a some loads of those, you will need to do willows. Witch is where you will start to need some money. You will need to buy about 5k willow logs (75,000gp) to reach you next goal of 55. Once you cut these into willow longbow (U) you can sell them to the general store and actually make money.
That will get you to 40 fletching
Estimated Time: 1-2 days, depending on your time online and how hard you work. (Some people have been known to finish in less than a day.)
Time to finish in less than a day: 4 hours of online time.
Step 2: The Middle Levels (Levels 41-70)
1. You will continue fletching willow logs in this step, until you reach 55 fletching, then you will move onto maple longs. (You will need about 5,000-7,000 willows.)
2. You will need money for this step; it will loose you about 300,000gp. Buy about 10k maple logs, and fletch them into longbows (U), if you don't mind taking a little more time for 99, then I would suggest that you use willows. Just as you did in the step before this, you will gain a small amount of money from it, but it might take you a few more days.
3. The rest is simple, you will make these longs until level 70 fletching. Prepare yourself, these next levels are sometimes the most painful, and is where most people quit.
Estimated time to complete this step: 2-3 days.
Time it would take to complete in 2 days or less: 5 Hours a day on runescape, or more.
Step 3: The Challenge (Levels 71- 85)
Before you start this step, please remember that depending on the price you buy yews and bow strings, you might loose a portion of your money. I suggest if you are trying to get 99 you make some money back before continuing, unless you have 7m+.
This step is simple, but it tears you apart. Unlike magic longs (the next step) you don't get exp that fast from yews. You will actually string during this step. You will need to buy a total of about 15,000 yew logs, and 15,000 bow strings in this step. If you do not have a lot of money (Like 12m+) then prepares yourself to buy in portions. For example: buy 2,000 yews and bow strings, and make them, sell them, and do it again. (You can buy your logs and bow strings easily in the Grand Exchange.
After doing about 15,000 yew longs, you will be about ready for the most expensive, but most exiting step. The magic longbow.
Estimated time for this step: About 6-12 days.
Step 4: The Hardest Part, But the Most Exciting
You are now approaching 99, and you are getting exited. You have a long way to go though. So prepare yourself.

5M is all you need; you will buy magic logs and strings, and simply do that until you reach 99
