How To: Become a Runescape Moderator

Ever wanted that silver crown next to your name in Runescape?

    Here's how:

    • Report people for using curse words.
    • When reporting someone, always say something like, “Please, stop cursing ____ Player. When you report them, Jagex staff will see you telling them that they broke a rule in the 60 second tape of the scene that they saw.
    • Report people advertising other sites, like autos that say, “Visit wwww.Example.com for cheap gold!

Jagex likes to see people taking action to one of Runescape's biggest problems, autoing, and real world item trading.

        • Look for glitches, also known as bugs in the game, reporting things like that, especially ones that can get you free gold, and high levels is a great thing to get Jagex's attention
        • Another important thing to becoming a player moderator is to make sure you have 0.0 black marks. You can check this by going to runescape's home page, and clicking “Appeal Ban/ Offence” witch is listed on the side.

          Eliminating Black Marks

A black mark means that you got reported for something, and it was proven that you committed this offence. Some offences are appealable, like offensive language for example. That means you can come up with an excuse, or you can simply apologize to Jagex.

There are also black marks that you can not appeal, like scamming abuse, or account hacking. To get rid of these black marks, you must remain un-reported for 1 month, each month you do that, you get -1.0 black marks.

Note: You must have 0.0 black marks to become a Runescape moderator.

Well you don't have to have 0.0 black marks to become a mod, i got 0.1 and became a mod, just keep playing fairly and report people when and where you see it, If you're doing what ya gotta do, Jagex will notice you :)

If You Have 0.1 BlackMarks And Your Ban Was Offencive Language. You Appealed It And, JagEx Recived It. And Its Still Their, Will The 0.1 Black Marks Go To 0.0 Black Marks Over A 1 Mounth Period Of Not Be Reported?

          Thanks Please Reply :)

You dont need 0.0 blackmarks, I spoke to Mod Stevew in FunOrb. He told methat you just need to play fairly reporting abusive players.

The more black marks you have ,the less chance you got of being a mod , and your black marks are not reduced if your not reported for 1 month, that's rubbish.
All you need to do is report the bad guys ,help others when they need help and enjoy the game. nothing special =)
I waited nealy 2 years before i became a Mod so don't expect it to happen in a month,it could take longer.

Also, talk in complete sentences so people understand what you're saying.

black marks will SOOOOO not go away in just one month you have to appeal and if the appeal fails then its stuck there for eternity....... It can takes up to 4 years to become a mod

Not a very good guide. You do not need 0.0 Black Marks. Jagex said that it's possible to become a Player Moderator with black marks. But if you are in the red zone, you can't become one.
