This guide has the ways by which people often get scammed on Runescape .note-this guide is written to make everybody aware that they can get scammed and to tell them to be careful.
Trade
What scammers often do is that they change their offer e.g. they are supposed to give you a rune sword, they quickly replace it with an adamant or mithril sword just before you press the accept button on the first screen hoping you wont notice the difference. This thing is also done with gold coins.
Prevention: always check the second trade screen while you are trading with someone.
Passwords and PIN
You can often see people telling that Runescape does not allow you to say your password or PIN. But the thing is that Runescape does allow you to say them aloud. Scammers try to convince people by typing ********* and saying that they tried to say their password but couldn’t hoping that you would say your password or PIN.
Prevention: just know that RS does allow you to say your password and PIN aloud.
Armour trimming
No one can trim armour. Trimmed, guilded, heraldic armour only available to members which they obtain through treasure trails. Anyone saying that he can trim armour is a scammer and is not to be trusted.
Prevention: just know that no one can trim armour.
These are the common ways by which people are cheated on Runescape. If someone is doing the above then report them using the ‘report abuse’ button. Do it within 60 seconds as this sends the video of the last 60 seconds to Jagex.
