As almost all of you know, runite ore is the highest ore one can mine and is worth in upwards of 12k gp. The only catch is that it requires a level 85 mining level to mine it. A level 85 mining level comes at a whopping 3258594 experience points. This number is just a little daunting, but this guide will help you get past that.
If you are already at a satisfying 41+ mining level, skip down to below. If you are not, read on.
From level 1, you should mine copper and tin with an iron pickaxe and drop it when you get a full inventory. Progress in this and get better pickaxes as soon as you can. Then, get to level 31 and buy an adamantine pickaxe. This will enable you to mine iron in two hits most times. Go to the Al Kharid mines and go into the three iron rock cluster and start mining and dropping when you get full. Do this until you are level 41, then buy a rune pickaxe for 25k.
When you have your rune pickaxe and a mining level of 41+, go to that same Al Kharid iron rock cluster and mine till a full load, then drop. Mine, then drop. This is called power mining, and will be your most effective way to achieve level 85. From level 41, you will need to mine 91927 iron. Obviously if you have a higher level, this will be less.
The Al Kharid iron rocks are the only place in the F2P world with three rocks as convenient as that. Since they are so awesome, people might try to out mine you. Do not let this happen; it will slow you down because you have to switch worlds. The best thing to do is when somebody challenges you, be on your toes and click AS SOON as that rock changes from dark gray to maroon.
Mine within your limits. Entertain yourself by doing something while mining, such as listening to music. The trick is to not get too bored in what you are doing so that you don't not want to do it.

When you reach level 85, visit the deep wilderness rocks and earn $12k or more a click! Beware of pkers. There are also some runite rocks in the heroes guild if you are a member.
